Troper Nightwire
seems to have a slight problem: he wants to be helpful and remove natter from the wiki (which he often does), but seems to think that the best way to deal with multi-bulletted sections that contain relevant information mixed in with natter is to simply remove the bullet points, shifting everything into one large paragraph with no changes to the text itself.
The end result in such cases is worse than before he got to it, because its still an example that's arguing with itself, but you now can't easily tell which parts of it are doing so.

Awhile ago I tried to make the character page for Wayward Sons by myself. Naturally, I gave up less than halfway through, and it hasn't changed since. I'm considering trying again, but I want to know if there's some kind of guideline to this kind of thing. Last time, I just copied the character profiles from the comic itself, which was a mistake.
Also, anyone care to help out? Many hands make light work and all that...

I understand the family friendly policy discourages gratuitous cussing. If an example has, say, an F-bomb thrown in, but not from the work itself, should it just be replaced?

A friend of mine said that someone made a page about a fanfic she wrote, apparently she didn't want it to have a page (Old Shame for her, and the page itself is full of random natter and mocking) but the other tropers didn't let her delete it. She's very upset about it and doesn't enjoy being on this site anymore. Is it true that the creator of the subject of a page doesn't have a say in whether or not it has a page for it? That seems a tad unfair.

On the "Works Pages Are A Free Launch" page, it says that one of the ways to launch a page is to take it to the forum. In this case, I'm not sure what I should do; should I go to the Music forum, title a thread "Launching Poets of the Fall", post what I have, and wait for responses?
If it matters, I already have a decent amount of content, and could probably launch it myself; I just want to flesh it out a little more. This would also be my first page launch.

Okay, so this is more like an opinion thing than anything else: when one searches Survival Of The Fittest into the tropes search bar, you can find several things - episodes of TV shows named "Survival of the Fittest", Survival Of The Fittest itself, and an online work called Darwins Soldiers, which has a sequel that shares the name Survival of the Fittest. Over the past year or so, I've actually come across the Darwins Soldiers thing more and more when I search, and coincidentally it was added to the SOTF page as "not to be confused with" kinda deal. I think this is a pretty valid thing in regards to name, as we all know, but now there's a disgruntled troper continually removing it from the page under the impression that since it's got nothing to do with the concept of SOTF itself, it can't be confused for it, never mind that they're both web original pieces, they're both internet role-plays, and Survival Of The Fittest and the Darwins Soldiers sequel both have the exact same name.
What's the go on this? Is it valid to keep it there if the name's the same, or should it go because it doesn't have much to do with the RP?

Moderation requested in Edit War on the Headscratchers page for Dragon Age II. Edit War involves multiple editors (including myself) removing an entry that appears to be complaining about a particular aspect of the work instead of Fridge Logic. The editor adding that entry claims it isn't Fridge Logic and is accusing us of "vandalism." Need some help sorting this out.

Issues in the YKTTW section, under the proposed trope "Citadel City". Discussion between myself and Totemic Hero (the sponsor of the Trope) has become heated. When I questioned his reasoning for denying an example, he takes it too personally. He now outright refuses any suggestions I make, and has unnerved me.
Not to mention he refuses any other tropers from editing the article. Instead of working together, Totemic Hero is not taking far too much control. And I fear my pateince is wearing thin.
I don't know what to do in this instance. Some sort of moderation is needed, but I don't know who to contact about this. What should be done?

Pretty much all of the edits by Its Always Sunny
are their cutting down on what they perceive as "liberal bias" on this site. Despite being liberal myself, they may have a point in some cases, but with some of the drastic cuts they are doing, thought I should bring this to the mods' attention.
I wonder if some of the pages at issue are ones that should be made more neutral (in either political direction) and locked.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but how do I vote on a crowner? The one I'm looking at says "vote up for yes, down for no" but there's just nothing clickable on the crowner itself for me - no boxes, buttons, or links that I can interact with. The only things I can click on are buttons labelled "Add New" and "Hide/Show Options". I am logged in.

There's some Edit warring on the Cartoon Network page. Tropers.I Am Boring keeps removing and changing any content that mentions the "CN Real" and "renaissance" eras (and a few other things too) on the page to whatever he wants, only saying "No YMMV items on the main page", which is ironic considering that he himself has put YMMV stuff on the main page (not to mention that there is a bunch of YMMV stuff still there, even before this edit war), and really sounds more like "I want this description done my way" rather than issues of having subjective tropes. I even tried to make a compromise, but he just continued on with his edit warring. Can I get a resolution on this? Yes the network has been in a bit of a rut lately, but I know that we can describe the network with a description that can make all sides happy.
Also, what is the rule when it comes to YMMV and Audience Reaction potholes and mentions when it comes to a work's/network's/creator's/etc. description? The only thing I know is that these shouldn’t be used as an example to a trope with the exception of In-Universe examples. If there’s a rule using those in a description, then all I can say that it is poorly enforced around the wiki. If not, then I smell a need for mod intervention on this page.

has given Fan-Preferred Couple an Example Sectionectomy without discussion (as far as I can tell). I've entertained that idea myself, but that kind of thing should really go through a TRS thread first.

For those who are familiar with Makoto Shinkai's Voices Of A Distant Star, I have an inquiry as to the usage of the tropes Time Skip.
Typically, Time Skip is used where a period of time has elapsed in-universe and the story picks up following this period. Voices Of A Distant Star presents a unique case, where the story is exchanged between a six month period (in Mikako's case) and eight years (in Noboru's case). While the story moves back and forth between two periods, the story itself does not jump over a period: hence my question as to whether or not that qualifies as a Time Skip?

I'm having some problems... Earlier this year, I created an account called Watching Preacher. Now (being somewhat of a fool) I cannot for the life of me remember the password, so I created a new account called The Fool Who Forgot His Password, intending to post in the "Forgot My Password!"-thread and reclaim my old account.
Then things got complicated.
When I try to do ANYTHING (edit, add replies, etc.) on this site with the new account I get a blank site saying "Sorry, we couldn't match your login information". I tried to log in on another computer, but it didn't work - I just got a "Hm, that combination doesn't seem to work"-message. Then I tried to clear all the cookies on the first computer - something that didn't result in anything. When I tried to log in, it said "Hm, that combination doesn't seem to work", but when I moved on, it said "Logged In". When I try to post, edit, add or reply to something, it says "Sorry, we couldn't match your login information" (though sometimes an "Use the "Get Known"-feature to do this" show up, whereupon I am redirected to the Get Known-form, which then says that "this computer is used by a troper who calls himself The Fool Who Forgot His Password")
What is going on? Is it a conspiracy? Is Tv Tropes trying to keep me out?
I... I just want my original account, called Watching Preacher, back. Please? *sniff*
Can anyone help me?
