I think this is bad enough form to call somebody out:
Tropers/Bakunawa07 reverted every edit I made to TroperTales.High Octane Nightmare Fuel (including recategorizing a personal testimony and cleaning up natter) prior to May 26th without giving any edit reason.
I'd ask what was up, but I don't want to draw attention to myself and spark an edit war.

On Touhou PC-98, the trope Trial-and-Error Gameplay has been add under a character. I am kinda confused: during the boss fight against that character, there is a need for Trial-and-Error Gameplay (as in all the game), but the character himself doesn't show that trope.

What's the policy on Trope Headscratchers? The entries there rarely technically Fridge Logic, because it's hard to Fridge Logic a trope, or real life, but many of them are about people's feelings regarding the trope itself. Whether it's fair, whether it's ideal, justifying it, etc.
A particular user, valjevert, is going through many of the Headscratchers/Tropes, and culling them until they fit her/his idea of what they should be. I tried PM'ing him/her to see if she would address her/his concerns in discussion, but s/he refused, so I thought I'd check Ask The Tropers for policy.

As per what is said on There Is No Such Thing As Notability (TV Tropes Wiki was started by fans. People, that is, who like stuff. You will see that articles work better here when they are about something you like. This is a little bit of a shock to folks that are used to cynicism about the media. It takes a minute or two to get used to.), I made the summery of this page a true summery instead of a thinly veiled place for people to hate. It was quickly reverted. I'm just trying to do what the wiki says we're supposed to do. It was:
Long before Rose graced the Harry Potter fandom, there was another series that centered around nudism. Written by a fellow by the name of Neil, the series starts off innocently enough, though with a clear Hermione/Harry coupling and the fact that Neil chose to use another fanfic as his canon, making it basically fanfiction of fanfiction. Then two Sues by the names of Jamie and Caitlin show up and things go downhill. You see, Jamie is from a family of naturists and begins to preach to Hermione and Harry (who are her professors at Hogwarts) about how oppressive and hateful she thinks clothes are. Caitlin is raped by Madame Hooch, adopted by Hermione, and befriended by Jamie. She quickly picks up nudist ways from Jamie and convinces Hermione and Harry to adapt to that lifestyle as well. We are then treated to an endless description of naked, underaged girls, rape, attempted rape, speeches on how terrible clothes are, unhealthy fixations on genitalia, and sex. Lots and lots of sex. And that's just the first story. Hermione and Harry are eventually married and also adopt Jamie and her "extremist nudist" sister Emily and befriend a shy Slytherin girl named Kim, all of whom also end up taking up naturism.
I tried to change it to:
Long before Rose graced the Harry Potter fandom, there was another series that centered around nudism. Written by a fellow by the name of Neil, the series starts off with a clear Hermione/Harry coupling, although Neil did chose to use another fanfic as his canon. The first chapter is mainly exposition, leading to jokes about the name. We learn that Harry has spend five years in a self-imposed exile to the muggle world, and is now returning to teach at Hogwarts. Ron is a werewolf, having been bitten by Lupin. He became a professional Quidditch player, but was imprisoned when he gnawed another player's leg off after going wolf mid-game. He and Hermione had a relationship for a short time, but he cheated on her with just about every woman he ever met. We also learn of Caitlin, an 11 year girl who was raped and left for dead by Madam Hooch. We are also introduced to Jamie, a 5th year Gryffindor. Jamie and Caitlin become fast friends, Jamie giving her sentient stuffed unicorn Pureheart to Caitlin to help with bad dreams. We, along with Caitlin, soon discover that Jamie is a lifelong nudist. Caitlin decides to try nudism and quickly becomes a nudist herself. Caitlin is soon adopted by Hermione, after Hooch's trial. Hermione and Harry realize that they still love each other and get together. Due to Emily and Jamie's parents being killed and them being adopted by the Potters, Jamie, Caitlin, and Jamie's younger sister Emily convince Hermione and Harry to become nudists as well. Hermione and Harry are eventually married and Emily and befriends a shy Slytherin girl named Kim, who also ends up taking up nudism.
I don't want to end up in another edit war, what should I do here?

How should we treat tropes on a work page that have to do with things surrounding the work (Hatedom, etc.), or with other works, but not the work itself?
The example I'm thinking of right now is the Literature/Twilight page, which has a rather large Take That! section, but none of the Take Thats take place in the novels - they're all Take Thats at the novels/movies.

What's our policy on reviews and offsite linking?
The reason I ask is that the Reviews page for Spiral Knights here
has 1 review that consists of a title, a link to a blog with a review for Spiral Knights on it (here
), and a single line about comments (bad or good) being welcome.
The review itself (I'm reading it right now) doesn't seem that bad. Incorrect in things? Yes. Actually quite a few, but that's never stopped anyone before with reviews. It just seemed strange that the actual review was offsite. Is there a problem with this or is it an allowed practice?

Is In Medias Res a good Self-Demonstrating Article page? I actually thought it had no description because I've always set my personal preferences so that all folders are automatically open, and the Anime And Manga section completely blocked off my screen to the description. Not really sure because it really depends on the user's preferences.

What's the best approach to disagreements on a page?
Basically, on the Goblins page someone added an entry for Mr. Fingers, the Lesser Finger Horror. I removed it
with the reasoning that Mr. Fingers was a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere, a random encounter whom, however impactful, was quickly disposed of and had no characterization to speak of. It'd be like having an entry for the Yellow Musk Creeper or the Soulspike Devourer.
Tambov333 disagreed and re-added it, claiming Mr. Fingers was a major antagonist.
I know the rule is "two reverts = edit war", so I'm refraining from re-deleting myself right now. If I could get a consensus of some sort one way or the other, or be directed on how to achieve a consensus, it'd be appreciated.

Mr Happy Face has.... issues. Beside writting the Trollish Stub The Communist Manifesto (soon cutlisted), some of his edits on troper tales are... Well, I'll let him talk, and let you judge if he's a troll yourself.
- TroperTales.Imaginary Friend: This troper has an imaginary gay friend that he loves to beat up and call pussy faggot retard. However, he's also to stupid to realize that this tropers hates him, but won't go away. This troper used his psychic mind powers to light him on fire because Faggot tried to shank me.
- TroperTales.Ironic Nickname: This troper is often called a smartass, which is funny, because I'm neither that smart or a donkey! Didya get the joke huh? Donkey and ass and stuff? And Ha!
- TroperTales.Crazy Prepared: This troper always has water on the tap. I will never die from dehydration as long as I pay my water bills.
- Troper Tales.Squee: This Troper says "Xq XS Xz Cvy Zplofaxz XQ!" whenevr he fals down the stairs. It makez him happy.

So I have a question that I probably should have asked a long time ago.
tl;dr is it possible for the few tropes that were banished to Darth Wiki to be in-universe and linked on a trope page?
(long version)
I launched a trope page about a non-fiction book about professional wrestling called Ring Of Hell, and on the original version of the page, one of the tropes listed was Dethroning Moment Of Suck. This was of course before DMOS was banished to Darth Wiki and made no link.
But the reason DMOS was listed on the page is because the author of the book invoked the trope himself, and came very close to calling it out by name. He claimed that "tribute shows" for deceased wrestlers were inherently phony, inherently sleazy, and "possibly the most sickening aspect" of a wrestler's death...
I thought that "possibly the most sickening aspect" line as written by the author himself was enough to make it an in-universe example of DMOS and readded it to the page - linking directly to the Darth Wiki version of it after the main wiki redirect was deleted.
So I guess I'm asking "What do?" Is this legitimate or not, and if not is there a different trope that could be used in place of DMOS?

People are deleting an entry from:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DethroningMoment/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses
Personally, I think it's just FanBoys who don't like that the entry accuses the critic of Critical Research Failure. The entry explained itself well (I can ratify that even a casual play of Sonic 2 will reveal the poorness with which the critic handled that one), and didn't say anything like "just everything he said". So it easily qualifies as Critical Research Failure, and even if it doesn't, the rules, to me, seem clear:
"Do not contest entries, this is subjective it is their opinion"
Thus, insofar as an entry comes with a decent explanation, which it seems to, deletion is against the rules. Is this correct?
I ask because more than one person has done this now, and it really is looking like a problem.
openNo Title Western Animation
Hi there! I am a brand-new troper (cue moans of exasperation from veteran tropers) who wishes to create an article for a show that doesn't have one yet. But it looks like someone has already begun creating one; when I search the title of the show, I'm linked to an article that is completely blank except for the title. The site tells me that the first thing I need to do is to create an index, and I'm confused. What should I link to in the index? Just "Western Animation" itself, or other Western Animation shows? Do I link to tropes that appear in the show? I've even seen some indexes that are alphabetical; should I do that? Any instructions for a first-timer on how to create an index for a new article? Thank you so much!

- sigh* Okay. I've just added a new article (no information yet except for the title) to the Western Animation index, but it's been Red Linked. I'm positive that I haven't made any spelling errors and that the page exists, because when I search its title, I am linked to an article with that title, which says "Click the edit button to start this new page". It also says that the page hasn't been indexed yet, even though I have added it to Western Animation. I don't mean to be a nuisance with all the questions about indexing and whatnot that I've been asking, and I promise that I'm trying to be as self-sufficient as possible, but can anyone help out a frustrated newbie and tell me why my article has been Red Linked and what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

jazzflower14 continuously removes this trope from the Total Drama Island YMMV page despite it being an accurate issue that has actually been brought up against the show several times.
- Unfortunate Implications: The choice of main antagonists for each season. Heather (Asian) in season one, Justin (Hawaiian) and Courtney (Hispanic) in season two, and Alejandro (Hispanic) in season three.
Is there something wrong with the trope usage here or is she just removing it for her own unexplained reasons?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I just had to express my appreciation about what an amazing, astonishing resource resource this website is. I'd bookmarked it for fun and for research. Andd then I saw...myself! I was listed as the author of the UNDEAD series, along with a description of Betsy the Vampire Queen and, purely on an unconscious level<g>, a bunch of the tropes I had infused the UNDEAD series with (Fluffy the Terrible, Our Werewolves are Different, A Chat with Satan, etc.). Finding myself here (not to mention several of my books) made my month! Thank you again!

The Theater page of the Character Sheets doesn't seem to be indexing right, with all of the works listed there not having the proper index. This is despite the fact that every other Character Sheets subpage didn't have this kind of problem. Could someone do something about it? I would do it myself, but I didn't really know how to.
