Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:
- General questions about the wiki, how it works, and how to do things.
- Reports of problems with wiki articles, or requests for help with wiki articles.
- Reports of misbehavior or abuse by other tropers.
Ask the Tropers is not for:
- Help identifying a trope. See TropeFinder.

The troper nxrmdkjdlsejm made a Homefront Complete Monster subpage with one example (against cleanup thread policy), that's a group (against cleanup thread policy), without consulting the cleanup thread (self-explanatory) and it's an example that we had previously voted unanimously to cut. Mods might want to tap them on the shoulder since they seem content to ignore the cleanup thread.
EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like the mods got around to that over a year ago and it's just taken us this long to notice the subpage. False alarm.

Now that Webcomic.Chugworth Academy if out of P5's hands, I would like to raise a question of whether it's a stub or not. Most of the page consists of references to deleted content, author's other (pornographic) productions and general hate, but pretty much nothing about the comic itself. Without them, all that's left of the page would be this or even less.
You can read a review by The Webcomic Authority here.
This comic provides examples of:
- Animesque: Sure does show its influences.
- Fanservice: To the point where some strips are simply drawings of girls without any words being said.
- Off-Model: Most of the time, the characters don't have noses. Only when drawn in different angles do they then have noses.

Over at the Game of Thrones S4E9: "The Watchers on the Wall" recap page we have troper mfarah ignoring a request to bring a contentious example to the discussion page and continuing to edit war. To give history to this; I thought the Idiot Ball examples were wrong for a variety of reasons listed in the edit reason and deleted them initially, mfarah added them back in with an edit reason responding with some arguments that weren't convincing. I commented them all out and pulled it to the discussion page, where the verdict was universally to cut them. mfarah just uncommented them without even looking at the discussion page.
Can a mod step in so this doesn't devolve into a full-out edit war? As it stands myself, Troll Brutal, Larkman and Hodor all weighed in on the discussion page and supported cutting it, mfarah is the only one pushing to keep them and can't be bothered to bring it to discussion.

Question on She Is All Grown Up. If a character is introduced first in their hot post-puberty state and then a flashback is shown showing their innocent child self, does the trope still apply? An added note, there has yet to be specific scene of the character wherein people In-Universe comment that the character is all grown up.

Darth Megatron
keeps making Self-Demonstrating pages for characters that... don't really speak. He made Self-Demonstrating.Charizard that got cut a while back, and now he's made a couple in their own namespace like PikaPikachu.Pikachu (actually he made about four different pages about that) and IAmGroot.I Am Groot.
They're also, by necessity, nothing but Zero Context Examples since the "examples" are potholed tropes and the explanations are in Pokémon Speak.

Per the YKTTW Crash Rescue thread, could we have Self Destruct As Failsafe unlaunched? It was very prematurely launched.

I am a bit confused by the fact that the Creator.Adam West and SelfDemonstrating.Adam West pages are absolutely identical. Is there a point?

I know Redirects Are Free, but I figure that it's better to make sure that the redirect title itself doesn't sound completely unrelated to the trope it redirects to. So... Would Significant Scar be a good synonym for Every Scar Has a Story?

When the message saying "Move this entry to Trivia" shows up, is it only if it's been included in the trope list or when it's in the sentence itself as well?
For example, the Redwall page has one line starting "Uncertain Doom: Despite Word of God saying that [...]" without the Trivia icon, whereas the icon shows up for "Word of God stated in a Q&A [...]" (on a second-bullet line), and there is no single-bullet Word of God entry.

On trope Skewed Priorities: Am considering adding as a Real Life example a news article from the 1970's about a 17-year-old girl with leukemia. Chemotherapy had just gotten to be a thing. She was told her treatment would leave her unable to bear children, and thought, "That's a small price to pay for life itself." But then when told it would also make her hair fall out, she started bawling. Does it fit there, or somewhere else?

Does Final Boss have any place on character and work pages? I know the Final Boss page itself doesn't list examples, but I frequently see it pop up on other pages, and very often in the form of ZCE's. (Especially on character pages—because, really, what else is there to explain once you mention that the character is the Final Boss of the game?) Bonus Boss and True Final Boss often have the same problem as well, at least on character pages.

bluesaber has cutlisted Webcomic.Cats N Cameras with the reason "This is a NSFW comic that violates this site's family friendly policy with blatant sex in it." even though "blatant sex" is not in and of itself a violation of the Content Policy and it's up to the 5P to decide on anything's standing under the Content Policy, not random cutlisting.
Plus, it's not the first time they've unilaterally cutlisted stuff (and the 5P ruled it "Not Porn" in that instance) - see here
.

I noticed that xandermartin98 created a fanfic page for Thirty More Hs, which is apparently an unofficial sequel to the infamous Thirty Hs. Accordingly, they added some links to it from the Thirty Hs page. So far, so legit. There are several problems, however.
1. Xandermartin98 is the writer of the sequel (but not the original), so the page and all links to it appear to be pure self-promotion. This is, to my knowledge, still allowed, but they have gone much further. They added YMMV links to it (e.g. Even Better Sequel, which I removed) and even wrote a glowing review
of their own work.
2. The fanfic itself doesn't seem to be accessible at all. The work page has no link to the fic. I googled it
, and apart from the relevant TV Tropes pages I only found this page
. The link
on said page is dead. Either the fanfic was deleted or it never even existed. This would make the page a candidate for Darth Wiki.
What's the best way of going about this?

edits are very nattery, and also violate Example Indentation. I PM'd the troper in the past (here I mean months ago), and the only time he/she replied was "let's say most TV Tropes itself suffers a lot of that" (as if to say it's OK just because others do it too). Hasn't learned the lesson ever since. I've reverted several of the recent edits, but I'm concerned that the troper will continue with the dubious habits.
EDIT: Indeed, the first time I sent the notifier was because of a violation of EI in SchmuckBait.Video Games.

mangalover
is vehement on changing a character's writeup from female to male pronouns due to a recent chapter's revelation, though the revelation itself is ambiguous and has only been suggested once by another character.
Edit: and I see their edits on non-character pages are filled with fan rage instead of rational writing.

I have a question about some things going on at Pokémon: Generation III - Treecko to Sharpedo. Some examples are being repaired due to being Zero Context Examples, but some of such being tagged do not seem to fit. For example:
- Trap Master: Naturally learns Toxic Spikes, and can be bred to know Spikes.
- Eyes Always Shut: Gulpin's design.
- No-Sell: To Ground-type moves, as Flying-types.
I guess my question is, if examples such as these count as ZCE, then what is needed to qualify as context?

For some reason, a YMMV page
exists for an (in)famous British politician. Said page has almost nothing to do with his portrayal in fiction and it's filled with Flame Bait-ty entries. The man himself is pretty controversial, too.

Are we allowed to assign Super Power Lottery to anything in Pokemon? I ask because of that ruling awhile back stating no competitive stuff (and some abilities are considered "good" only by a competitive standpoint, mainly Drizzle) but there's no denying that some abilities are flat-out better than the rest.
The ones I thought it would apply to:
- Protean - STAB on everything, can No-Sell certain statuses or types depending on your moves, screws with the AI.
- Magic Guard - Immune to all passive damage, including recoil from the user's moves or from a Life Orb. Can abuse the One Curse Limit if you're inflicted by Poison or Burn since the owner can no longer be put to Sleep or Paralyzed.
- Magic Bounce - Immune to (and bounces back) all non-damaging moves from the opponent unless they have Mold Breaker.
- Drizzle - Mostly rooted in competitive use, but it's the main reason why Kyogre is so Purposefully Overpowered (it can 2HKO the best special wall in the game with a special attack). Supports a ton of Pokemon with a 50% boost to Water attacks, Thunder and Hurricane are always accurate, decreases the damage of Fire attacks by 50%, and turns just about anything with Swift Swim into a Lightning Bruiser since most are Water-types.
- Prankster - Gives all non-damaging attacks +1 priority, meaning you can inflict Burns, Paralysis, use Status Buffs, or heal yourself before your opponent can move each turn.
- Huge/Pure Power - Doubles the owner's attack stat. Anything that has it and is fully evolved has Attack on par with or exceeding most Olympus Mons.
- Poison Heal - Heals the owner by 1/8 of their max HP each turn if they are Poisoned and gives status immunity due to One Curse Limit.
- Parental Bond - Free 50% boost to all damaging attacks, can break Sturdy/Focus Sash and hit targets behind Substitutes (breaking them then hitting again), both hits have a chance to activate a move's secondary effect (essentially doubling the chance like Serene Grace).

Kind of questioning the taste of WWE including the Chris Benoit murder-suicide. So Bad It's Horrible is for poorly-conceived, poorly executed art, the worst writing, music, and visual art to ever see the light of day. Having an actor's real-life killing of himself and his family in there doesn't quite seem to fit, even if it was partially due to industry practices.
