resolved possible first-time troper made a mess in Dead Fantasy Web Original
a relatively new user, Jankrobo, made several edits to the Dead Fantasy (characters) page and going by their history the Dead Fantasy (Awesome) page as well. these edits don't add any anything more than Word Cruft and factual/spelling errors. additionally, since this user apparently didn't know that the preview button exists, they racked up roughly two pages of junk edits on the edit history, making it incredibly difficult for me to roll back their changes. the only two edits since then are the first one that I caught, and one other troper.
is there a way to roll back the page to a previous version? I feel like it would be the simpler fix than just sifting through those two pages of edits by hand fixing what this guy broke.
the last half-decent edit came from Jan 20, 2024 by a user named Ninetails 2000, if that helps

openRestore Ranboo's page Web Original
Let's Play.Ranboo was cut because of many tropes on the page that bring the creator troping and generally not following guidelines. Now, I have a few tropes that could come from his VTuber avatar, lore, and skits from his recent streams. I'll spend a while revamping and reworking it to keep up with recent times.

openUnmarked spoiler removal for Walking Spoiler in Characters. The Amazing Digital Circus Players Web Original
Recently, LCJ has removed
the unmarked spoiler warning of Kaufmo's folder (a Walking Spoiler) in Characters. The Amazing Digital Circus Players and inserted a bunch of spoiler tags without elaborating why they did it.
I'm soliciting a mod to revert this huge change, because as well as the lack of reason, it's clear that Kaufmo's folder is better off with unmarked spoilers due to a large majority of the tropes listed in it addressing spoilers from the work, not to mention that thus far, there's been only one more edit (on Ragatha's folder) after the removal that I can easily restore following the reversal.

On Recap.RWBYV 9 E 8 Tea Amidst Terrible Trouble (history is here
), GGG555 added an Armor-Piercing Response example and a Never My Fault example.
I removed them as potential misuse and brought it up on the Is this an example? thread
to avoid a potential edit war, but GGG555 readded the examples. Thoughts on what to do here?
openthis collaborative story known by multiple tile, but which one should i use? Web Original
There is this popular tumblr collaborative story, kind of like The God of Arepo: https://fanlore.org/wiki/The_Grandmother_and_The_Demon
though unlike The God Of Arepo, it doesnt have consistent title. some versions call it Anette and Todd the Demon, Grandmother and Todd, (The Adventures of) Todd and Granny and I Saw Granny Ethel with the Devil.
Which title should I use? I only put it as The Grandmother and the Demon though it's just a placeholder.
Edited by Clione67resolved BuzzBound has two pages Web Original
There are two pages for BuzzBound, one for the original and one for the sequel, both made by the same troper. I believe having a second page for Shadow of Giygas is redundant and should be merged into the original's page. My main reasoning is that there's a lot of overlap between the two works (7 out of 8 tropes on BuzzBound's page alone applies to both works). Also the ending of Shadow of Giygas suggests the series may be episodic. Thoughts?
Edited by supernintendo128resolved What's with this page? Web Original
I found the Characters page for Basics in Behavior and there's just a bunch of empty folders. Except I saw this edit
on 2 September by Shooting 2 Stars which basically deleted all the contents, without an edit reason. Should this be reverted?
Edit: I reverted it per the Character Page Cleanup
thread.
resolved Wrong namespace? Web Original
I was looking through the videos on the VideoExamples.Super Mario Bros page for potential videos that could be kept there, when I came across JustForFun.SMB Plumbing page.
At first I thought, "okay, this is a troper trying to have fun with that Advertising Campaign / ARG website where it's like it's going to the in-universe website where Mario and Luigi are running it"
But then I looked at it and saw it cataloged the actual thing the website was and how it worked both in and out of universe (the page itself might need some cleanup).
I couldn't find a forum thread immediately for a problem like this, but am I correct in thinking this shouldn't be a Just for Fun page, and should go to a different namespace like a Website?
openSiIvaGunner subpages likely needs to be reworked Web Original
Sorry if this is a bit confusingly phrased.
Context: This query is about SiIvaGunner, a bait-and-switch YouTube music channel that mostly uploads “rips”. Most rips are just the thumbnail as is, but some can have additional visual elements or is a full video.
I’ve noticed two of the SiIvaGunner YMMV subpages, Awesome Moments and Awesome Music, are currently mostly interchangeable content-wise as both subpages mostly document entries about specific rips.
Out of the current 18 entries of the Awesome Moments subpage, 13 of them are about a specific rip (counting collaborative videos and rips not focused on music), and four of the 13 have dedicated entries on both subpages. Note that entries of the first two listed rips described their visual elements:
- “Agent Yoru o Yuku - The Idolm@ster 2” Moment entry
and Music entry
- “Ultra B+K - jubeat plus” Moment entry
and Music entry
- “Ultimate Koopa - Super 64” and “Ultimate Koopa Clear - Super 64” Moment entry
and Music entry
(these are both mentioned in one singular entry on both subpages)
- “I Love Beijing Tiananmen Fusion Collab” Moment entry
and Music entry
This essentially makes Moments an extension of Music with only a few additional general entries on channel-events, Colbert bumps, and other trivia.
Which leads me to this question: Is describing visuals (music video, thumbnail edits, etc…) allowed in Awesome Music?
If yes, then how much is allowed? And in SiIvaGunner’s case, what should be done with Awesome Moments? Should it be reworked to only include trivia and general moments whereas Awesome Music is for specific rips only?
If not, then how should both subpages be reworked and cleaned up? EDIT: I should've clarified: Will the subpages be reworked so that visual elements and trivia are reserved for Moments and music elements are for Music?
Should a cleanup thread be launched? Please advise.
Edited by Duy03resolved "Blitzo" or "Blitzø" for ''Helluva Boss'' main character? Web Original
There's been a bit of a back and forth between myself and another editor—TheAmazingBlachman—as to whether or not the main character of Helluva Boss' name should be spelled "Blitzo" or "Blitzø".
For context—the main character in question is an imp assassin who in his youth was a circus clown named "Blitzo", but as an adult he spells his name "Blitzø" (how it's spelled on official merch and in the credits, with the "ø" representing a crossed-out "o") or "Blitz⦻" (how it's spelled in the episode "Truth Seekers"—again to emphasize that the "o" has been crossed out) and pronounces it "Blitz" (which is how some of the other characters spell it) in order to make himself sound more mature and badass.
TheAmazingBlachman's point of contention, to my understanding, is that "ø" is an actual letter in several languages, and therefore Helluva Boss improperly using it in the main character's name to represent a crossed-out "o" comes across as nonsensical to speakers of those languages—akin to a played-straight usage of The Backwards Я. Ergo, TheAmazingBlachman has been going through and changing "Blitzø" to "Blitzo" because—to quote the editing reason—"Ø is an actual letter, not a silent O, and his name sure isn't Blitz-euh."
I'm personally of the opinion that—at least when referring to the character as an adult—his name should be spelled how the series does in the credits and official merch, but our discussion in DMs was going in circles without resolution so I figured the matter should be taken to ATT for a vote rather than risk an edit war starting up.

Edited by KuruniopenHow many Awesome/Funny/Heartwarming moments must a work have to have its own page for them? Web Original
I was looking at the Funny Moments pages for the podcast Dungeons and Daddies, and it only has two examples. A while back I tried to cutlist the page (at the time it had only one example, which I had moved to the YMMV page), but the page was not cut. I was going to try to cutlist it again, but is two examples enough to merit keeping the page? (I'm assuming no, but then I thought that one example was enough to cut it, and apparently that was incorrect).
openPage for a possibly lost work Web Original
Mills College Anime Club links to a blank page, and the author describes it as an Old Shame that they would rather forget. There is a link to a review, though it is paywalled (at 226 pages, it may well be that the review still carries the original).
On top of the original being deleted, many edits are from obvious haters. I could remove the worst, but I am not sure if it worth the effort.
Should this article be moved to Darth, or even cut entirely?
openKosher website page or nah? Web Original
A recent ATT reminded me that we have a page for Club Penguin Fanon. As with some other fanon wikis that have been around for long enough, it seems to blur the line between "wiki used for hosting tropable creations" (i.e. the likes of the SCP Foundation; kosher provided there isn't a better place to organize things) and "wiki used for rounding up fan ideas" (it is in the name, after all; not kosher per mod posts in the Websites Cleanup.)
Indeed, from what's been put on the tropes page, it seems like some of the content falls under rule #4 of the cleanup (content on the site is probably tropable, but it's likely better to have it filed separately under other namespaces), while others are scattered enough that it circles back around to a non-kosher collection of fan ideas.
I tried posting in the Websites Cleanup long ago to get a second opinion, but failed to obtain a proper verdict, so I'm taking it here to get it worked out.
openChange header on Ask the Tropers? Web Original
I’ve noticed that we get queries here that are better served on other pages - typically ones that are more appropriate to Trope Finder, but unlike that page this one doesn’t suggest or link to alternatives at the top, possibly the issue is compounded by this being the first “help” page in the menu list. Perhaps we could adjust the text header to add some relevant text. For example:
This page is for general questions about the site. Before posting here, take a look at the list below as they are better suited for specific types of questions:
Not sure if we have a trope or can’t find it? Try <link>Trope Finder<link>
Need help finding a TV show or something else you can’t remember the name of? Try <link>You Know That Show<link>
Have an idea for a trope we don’t have yet? Try <link>Trope Launch Pad<link>
Etc. This might cut down on posts that get a bunch of “Ask here about this” replies and get locked.
Edited by ExxolonopenIs it a right timing to make a new example of Role Ending Misdemeanor about James Charles? Web Original
I was wondering if James Charles deserves to have his own new example of Role-Ending Misdemeanor since he got exposed as a predator. Although this isn't a first time he was mentioned in Role-Ending Misdemeanor page. Is it a right time to talk about James Charles or not? And why is no one talk about James Charles anymore? Note: For those who thinks I might misuse the example, James Charles lost his sponsorships and subscribers, was no longer a host for his show, and his channel got temporarily demonetized .
Edited by Bubblepig

Mickey Mouse's case is... interesting. While he's not 100% out of the copyright world, his 1928's design is now in the Public Domainnote . With that said, Suicide Mouse, both the OG written pasta and its (classic) recreations, clearly use the Steamboat Willie design that's now in public domain, no tricks or anything (and yes, even the one with the white gloves
count, as contrary to popular belief, 1928 Mickey does use white
◊ gloves
).
So... shouldn't it now have the Literature namespace instead of the Fanfic one (besides its alternative Web Original namespace), since it should technically be a Derivative Work?
