openMeme clarification to avoid EditWar Videogame
I removed some Memes on the Fire Emblem: Three Houses page because they were not memes that originated from the game and were not really fitting for it. Namely these:
- Speaking of JoJo, the fact that Takehito Koyasu voices Seteth (and female Byleth's romantic option), DIO memes were bound to happen:
Seteth: Oh? You’re approaching me? Instead of running away, you’re coming right to me? Byleth: I can’t marry you without getting closer. Seteth: Ho ho! Then come as close as you like.
- It's now common for commenters imagining Seteth going "WRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" in the background if you S-Supported Flayn. Which is fitting for him since he's really her father.
- Speaking of JoJo, the fact that Takehito Koyasu voices Seteth (and female Byleth's romantic option), DIO memes were bound to happen:
- Looking cool Byleth!/Go to sleep, Byleth! Explanation Cassandra Lee voices Sothis in the dub of the game, and comparisons to Morgana (whom Cassandra also voices) have skyrocketed. It doesn't help that many people say Three Houses feels like a Persona game, or that Sothis is Byleth's companion the same way Morgana is to Joker.
- "You Are My Child Now." Explanation Line originally spoken by Garon now depicting Byleth as The Assimilator, draining every other house of all its students. Especially the adorable ones.
AK 47 Productions readded them without a reason. I wanted to verify if there is really any sort of standards for memes for certain works where it needs to be from that or based around it? These are memes from other works and not specifically from this work.
openAstral Chain Videogame
With the game being released tomorrow I wanted to add some more tropes to the Astral Chain page from recent trailers but it's locked. It's not in the list yet so I don't know why it's been locked or who's running it. Anyone know?
openAndroid Games in Main namespace but not a Trope Videogame
Main.Android Games is in the Main namespace, but it isn't a Trope, reads like a Useful Notes page, and its counterpart UsefulNotes.IOS Games is in the Useful Notes space.
Shouldn't "Android Games" be moved to the Useful Notes namespace?
openKeep Circulating The Tapes Atari Examples Videogame
The Video Games subpage of Keep Circulating the Tapes has a folder of Atari examples that are either too brief, Zero Context Examples, or unprofessionally written. Personally, I think the Atari section needs a clean-up very badly. Unfortunately, I am not very knowledgeable on Atari games so I can’t really do much to clean it. If there’s anyone with more knowledge on the subject, I’d gladly appreciate some help.
Edited by Pemulis_128openRPG Maker games as "Eastern RPG" Videogame
I noticed video games made by RPG Maker are almost all listed in the index of Eastern RPG. Now RPG Maker is indeed a Japanese game engine, but not every video game made with it is from a Japanese production. Wouldn't it be better to remove RPG Maker from Eastern RPG unless they're an actual Japanese production? Right now it appears to be but a redundant index which lists the same exact things.

openShould Glitches be on Character Pages? Videogame
On Pokémon: Generation I - Tangela to Mew, some glitches have been added on the bottom of the character page. The problem though is these glitches are not really characters since these glitches are unintentional. Should these glitches be removed or moved to a more appropriate Pokemon page/sub-page (if they're not already there now)?
I have not checked the other Pokemon character pages, but if glitches are listed there as well, should the same thing be done for them?
Edited by Ngamer01openRemoving Uriel Septim VII from Characters/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion? Videogame
Emperor Uriel Septim VII is described both in The Elder Scrolls: Recurring Characters and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion; shouldn't he be removed from the latter? He's a recurring character and, as it is done in most Characters pages, they are either described in a specific subpage for recurring characters, or they're described in the first work they appeared.
openOkage Title Videogame
The page for Okage is incorrectly titled. The real title is Okage: Shadow King, you can even see it on the poster in the page itself. Requesting approval to move everything to the proper namespace.
Edited by DelphineTheDelphoxopenA question on "meta" Funny Moments Videogame
So I know having "meta" examples on Moments pages is a bit of a contested topic, but I'd like to know where exactly a line should be drawn.
To be specific, on Fate/Grand Order, an example has twice been removed by troper Xatu 44. The example revolves around a real life descendant of Florence Nightingale posting to the Grand Order subreddit in confusion over why anime fanart of his ancestor exists, which amused a lot of people and has lead to several humorous moments.
Xatu 44 has removed this example twice (posted by different tropers), saying that it's "an irrelevant in-joke from a niche subcommunity". I'm unclear as to why this example is irrelevant considering numerous other meta examples from Youtube and other websites they've left untouched, and besides which, how niche a reaction is has no bearing on relevancy in Moments pages by my understanding.
So I'd like some other opinions. Is Xatu44's deletion warranted, and if so, what differentiates a Reddit thread from a Youtube video or similar when it comes to meta Moments?
Edited by DarkHunterresolved Bashing another member of the Choices fandom Videogame
Troper Canine99 added a segment bashing someone from the Choices: Stories You Play fandom on the YMMV section. It has since been deleted, but it still concerns me. Since the general rule of thumb when editing any page is to not insult another person on the Internet even if it's on the YMMV section, I just need this issue addressed with grace.
Edited by BigLennyopenDoes The Nimbus read like an actual thing to you? Videogame
I found this when doing index clean-up a couple of weeks ago. Basically, the searches for it online reveal either VideoGame.Project Nimbus or just Nimbus, which are both very different from the stated description for this game. Not even a list of 40k+ games
reveals anything for it.
Given that fact, as well as how vague and general the entire page is, I strongly suspect it's another instance of DarthWiki.Unpublished Works, and so should be moved to DarthWiki namespace.
Edited by NTC3openAm I able to report a rude edit summary? Videogame
Apologies if I come off as awkward! ^^; I never use the forums here, I simply edit information on pages from time to time. Anyway, earlier today I was adding a section for an Arc Villain I confused for a Big Bad on the Characters page for Criminal Case. I wasn't aware of the mistake until I read the page history later. At 12:17 AM, a Troper called Rombustier edited the article fixing my errors, but left this edit summary after: "Know the difference between Big Bad and Arc Villain? Apparently you don't." I was quite upset by the user's unnecessary cheap shot for what I felt was a minor mistake on my behalf. I don't believe this is a common mistake of mine, which is what hit me the hardest. I looked up how to report a user and a search result led me to ask here. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, this is just an issue I'd like cleared up soon. Thanks otherwise!
openQuestion regarding a Dethroning moment Videogame
Kibchi has added a DethroningMoment.Video Games moment that I felt got way too personal to qualify:
- Kibchi here. My current moment for me is how Nintendo handled the casting for Three Houses. First they get Edelgard a new voice actor (and don't even tell us why,) and then they replace Byleth's with a total novice over Tumblr drama. Chris confessed to a lot of abuse, (that happened because people decided to emotionally abuse him badly enough he was suicidal,) and violated his NDA (by talking in a closed circle of friends, apparently) so they replaced him with this guy who's barely old enough to drink. This lack of transparency and their desperate cling to their image is utterly disgusting. The Nintendo Ninjas have lost their right to call themselves ninja- Only the most despicable scum would kick a suicidal man when he's down. This attempt to whitewash their image is just making it worse. I'd pre-ordered the game before it happened, so I couldn't just cancel my order on release day, but I'm not buying any DLC. Also, I'm not updating the game. The Day One patch can go fuck itself.
This DMOS has nothing to do with the game itself and kinda constitute as a real life example yet the troper readded it back despite being previously removed twice due to not being a fictional moment.
Edited by Loekman3openWhy is Culpa Innata suddenly a Visual Novel? Videogame
To get people's minds off the other ATT discussion, here is a query I wanted to make for a while, but kept forgetting: does anyone know why VisualNovel.Culpa Innata uses that namespace instead of a Video Game one?
As in, here is what that Turkish game actually plays like.
It may be cutscene-heavy, but it's no more of a visual novel than, say Dreamfall: The Longest Journey or any other of its Adventure Game contemporaries.
Absent opposition, I'll be moving this tomorrow.
openWhat is the trope name? Videogame
What is the trope about libraries and books wich they had from none to little information found in videogames?
openIs Swap Note actually a game? Videogame
So, I moved VideoGame.Mii to UsefulNotes.Mii, since the other tropers here agreed they don't count as a game in their own right.
While changing the wicks, however, I also stumbled upon VideoGame.Swap Note. Now, should this actually count as a game? Apparently, it's just text software with a cute avatar, and most of the tropes seem to be about the avatar, with nothing about the (non-existent) mechanics.
Keep, move to Useful Notes, or cut outright?
Edited by NTC3openEntries deleted with no edit reason given in Characters/TokyoAfterschoolSummoners Videogame
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/TokyoAfterschoolSummoners
Corona Borealis and many other users are just deleting or modifying entries without explanation. They even deleted Kuniyoshi, a character who has yet to be added to the Characters list. It really left a bad taste in my mouth, and now I have to readd him again because someone doesn't like how I write entries apparently.
Can anyone do something about them? Or send them a warning or reprimand?
openStarbound YMMV Page Locked? Videogame
I can't help but bring this up as the page is locked and the Administrivia.Locked Pages index dosen't list the reason why.
Edited by nombretomado

Hello,
I've been a trafficker on the site for a bit before finding small ways I could add to articles, whether it be fixing small mistakes I can find, or adding a few new tropes to not very well-known series.
The page for the video game Walking On A Star Unknown is sparse and had a bit of weird grammar (I did a little bit of editing myself for some wording, as well as adding a few tropes, an image, and a quote- both very general ones from the translator's site). I am interested in taking more liberty and adding a character page, as well as moving tropes that fit characters from the main page to simplify and improve the article.
Since it is quite a small, not yet too-popular game, I assume it would be alright for me to take charge with this? I am not too sure on the etiquette of making large improvements without prior consulting to a larger audience myself, and if I have already stepped over the line by adding a photo and quote, I admit fault (and am more than willing to change it myself if there are any issues.)
In addition, is it preferred that I edit in chunks, or in one or two larger edits? My flow is currently to add bits and pieces at a time, though I could always change this to be one large edit if it is more convenient.
Apologies that this is so long and in depth, I didn't think more background info would hinder anything, I hope. Thank you! Papurika
