openExample to Trope: 'Working Class Anthem' Film
Hey Tropers,
I stumbled upon the trope 'Working Class Anthem' and thought it would be great to contribute an example to it.
- Example:** The song 'Jame Raho' from the movie 'Taare Zameen Par (2007)' could be a fitting addition. This song, featured in the IM Db top 250, encapsulates the daily grind of two brothers. The elder brother adheres to a rigid routine, waking up early, preparing for school, and conforming to societal expectations imposed by parents and the community. This portrayal mirrors the disciplined approach often associated with the working class, where adherence to norms and responsibilities is paramount.
Conversely, the younger sibling rebels against this conformity, refusing to conform to the societal mold imposed upon him. His struggle symbolizes the challenges and aspirations of those who seek to break free from the constraints of conventional expectations.
I believe 'Jame Raho' embodies the essence of the 'Working Class Anthem' trope, portraying both the adherence to tradition and the desire for individuality within the working-class context.
Best regards, Sumit
openInformed Attribute Film
I want to do an Informed Attribute writeup for Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader but I have no idea where to put it. It seems pretty YMMV but also seems very specific to place directly in the franchise-wide YMMV page.
openYMMV trope question? Film
Discovered this for Ymmv from the film Pig (2021), as seen here (click here):
- Award Snub: Academy Award buzz was high for Cage's performance, and the film in general. Suffice to say many were surprised and quite annoyed when the film received zero nominations.
resolved There are several edits by ethanm1 on the headscratcher page for a New Hope that seems written by AI Film
Example
Great question! The Death Star is powered by a powerful reactor located in the station's core. This reactor generates a massive amount of energy that is used to power a combination of propulsions systems, including repulsorlift engines, which allow the station to hover in the air or space, and sublight engines, which allow it to move through hyperspace. The Death Star also employs a special type of engine known as a hyperdrive, which is capable of moving the station across vast distances at faster-than-light speeds. This engine can be used to move the station between different star systems, and is what allows it to travel from one battle to another. However, it takes time to charge and power up the hyperdrive, which is why the Death Star is usually accompanied by a fleet of support ships, such as the imperial star destroyers, which can provide protection while it is charging its hyperdrive. Overall, the Death Star is a highly advanced and powerful vehicle that is designed to dominate the galaxy and instill fear in its enemies. The station's weapons, armor, and propulsion systems make it one of the most formidable craft in the galaxy, and its ability to travel from one system to another allows it to be a constant threat to any target, whether it's a rebel base, or simply an entire planet that it has been sent to destroy
Are the use of AI to answer headscratchers okay?

openProposal for Addition to 'Films: Animated' entry of 'Walk Into Mordor' Film
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't 'Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse' fit in the 'Films: Animated' entry? I distinctly remember one scene where the spiderpeople were on the roof of the building where Kingpin's ball (and device) was, and then Noir says, "It can't be that easy," in regards to the others plan of sneaking in as is due to the Spiderman theme of the ball (Because of the original peter's death) and then there's a Gilligan Cut (?) to Noir saying 'It really is that easy.'
resolved Thomas and the Magic Railroad in the wrong namespace (?) Film
Currently, Thomas And The Magic Railroad resides in the Western Animation namespace like the original show. However, I question this. While it makes sense for the original show and the other films to be in the namespace, since they either use claymation/Supermarionation for the early stuff or CGI for the later stuff, Thomas and the Magic Railroad is a unique case as it features real humans in real settings for major chunks of the film, so I wonder if the "film" namespace is better suited for it.
I mean, if Who Framed Roger Rabbit, a film that is more animated than Magic Railroad is in the film namespace for having real humans and stuff, than Magic Railroad probably fits there too. What do you think?
Edited by Tylerbear12openJaws Film
I was trying to edit the "Jaws: Characters" page and every time I pressed "submit", I get sent to the home page and my edit doesn't post. Either something's wrong with the page or I've been banned from editing again and I don't know why because I haven't gotten any warnings or notifications.
resolved Best Image Size for a Movie Poster Film
When adding a movie poster to a Film page, what is the recommended size? I'm guessing as close to Wikisize as possible?
Edited by GoodOlGraniteopenCan you adjust image sizes post-Image Pickin? Film
I’ve noticed that some of my suggestions are oversized (quoteright:900 for example), and they’ve already been selected per Image Pickin’ threads. So my question is, can you edit the image sizes after they have been chosen or already put in?

openSo OK It's Average Question Film
From YMMV.The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent:
- So Okay, It's Average: Negative reviews of the movie focused on the movie not going far enough with the concept; much of the potential insanity of Nick Cage running rampant are constrained to a few scenes or are focused on Pedro Pascal's character fanboying for Cage. Depending on who you ask, this can be a good thing for not trying to go too hard to go over-the-top.
openIs there a trope about characters asking "what is it?" Film
Alice and Bob are walking down the street. Suddenly Bob stops (usually, it's the male character, dunno why) because he sees something nearby or further away - a dead body, a spaceship, a skybeam, a monster or a dinosaur... He's all shocked. Alice, on the other hand, seems totally oblivious even though the spaceship covered half of the sky or they're standing over the body, and asks Bob, while(!) looking at him(!) "What is it? What's wrong?". Sometimes, even, Bob says "Look at this, Alice!" and Alice, in all of her situational awareness wisdom looks directly AT Bob instead of following his pointing finger or a hand. It's a regular trope in movies, makes no sense in real life and it's pretty annoying. Does this trope have a name? Thanks
resolved Thinking about making page about obscure horror film Film
I recently saw a not-really-known horror film called Fetus directed by Brian Paulin. For those who need context, basically a guy loses his wife and child during birth, unable to cope with the grief, he goes on a bit of a murder spree as part of a satanic ritual to try and bring them back from the dead.
I don't know if any other troper has seen it yet, but if they have then they may know of some of the stuff the film has, but I just wanna know if me making a page on it would be allowed or not, since I know TV Tropes has something of a limit to when it comes to horror films, considering that none of the August Underground films have a dedicated page.
So would me making a page about the 2008 horror film Fetus be allowed, or would I be better off making the page on All the Tropes instead?
resolved Need Help finding this movie Film
So about 5 years ago I was watching this movie on either showtime, starz, I’m not sure. Could have been any channel. The movie was if I can remember right about a man struggling and the movie was really just focused on him, not many 2nd characters and the Only scene I can remeber is he was eating food his apartment and then the camera pans out to a bridge or something while showing the apartment at the same time.
resolved Redlink consensus Film
So, on the YMMV page for Anyone but You, a redlink for Still Woozy was removed by MatthewGuy6131994. Given Red Link allows that sort of thing, I was wondering if I could get some permission to put it back without initiating an edit war.

So it seems (I literally discovered this by accident today) that "Vansploitation" is a thing on IMDB, yet no match here? https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=vansploitation&ref_=tt_stry_kw
