Ask the Tropers:
openImage being really big for no reason
I'm not really sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I'm currently in the process of adding images of my avatars to my troper page and I've noticed that whatever the first image in the 'Stuff about my avatars' folder is becomes really big, despite me setting the width to 100 with a mediaproxy link. Is there any way to fix this?
openRegards to a shelved series
While exploring troper KiraKiwi's edits for anything to fix, I noticed that they are crosswicking Micronauts, a cartoon that never aired but had a ton of work that was leaked. I know write offs are infamous part of TV now but I don't know if we should note its existence, especially since there is no page.
Edit: spelling
Edited by Ayumi-chanopenRequesting a redirect: ETS2 > Euro Truck Simulator 2 Videogame
I noticed that the Trivia page for Euro Truck Simulator 2 has a red link for ETS 2. So, I'm kindly asking if someone could redirect ETS 2 to Euro Truck Simulator 2. Please and thank you.
(I don't know where else to ask for redirects, nor do I know how to make one. I'm still a fairly fresh Troper, and would love to know how!)
resolved Useful Notes - AI Boom? Web Original
Just stumbled across this new page and feel like it could use some discussion. It seems to have been quietly launched a little over a week ago, in more or less its current form.
For one thing, I see a few suspicious signs that the text might be AI-generated itself; notice the em dashes, the lists of three items, "from x to y", the vague adjectives.... plus it's pretty poorly organized.
Be that as it may, it takes a weirdly hyped tone, almost self-congratulatory, and only glancingly touches on some of the huge controversies in the creative world around AI and LLMs. Obviously it's a hot-button topic that evokes strong feelings for many, including being a central point of contention in the most recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes... but there I go. Point being, the page as it is seems like one person's opinion that doesn't do a good enough job at taking multiple perspectives into account. It lacks a lot of specifics about the technology and the discussions around it as it exists.
That's assuming we even want/need such a page, honestly I fear Flame Bait in its future.
What do we think should be done with it: Cutlist it, expand it, find some more contributors and entry pimps to balance it out?
Edited by JeduthunopenHow to add alternate titles to work pages Videogame
I noticed that many works and tropes have alternate titles such as Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! aka Project SEKAI, Pretty Cure has PreCure, etc.
I want Ensemble Stars! to have Ensemble Stars!! Basic and Ensemble Stars!! Music as alternate titles since the game is now split into two apps with different gameplay and some exclusive features. (though the West only has Music). How does one add alt titles? Is it a mods only thing?
resolved Need apostrophe for page title in WebAnimation/ThomasDreamyMisadventures Web Original
"Thomas" needs to have an apostrophe at the end ("Thomas'") since that's the proper title and iirc you have to ask someone to add it since normal users can't so yeah. Thanks in advance.
Edited by N64Hylianresolved TRS crowner for Mechanically Unusual Fighter and Mechanically Unusual Class
Hello. There is an open crowner for Mechanically Unusual Fighter and Mechanically Unusual Class in this TRS thread
. The crowner will determine what to do with these tropes.

openSplitting pages for works of the same name
Where can I find the policy or procedure regarding works with the same name?
The specific case that prompts me to ask is Wayward, where there's currently a streaming miniseries, a comic book, and a videogame, all completely unrelated to each other, but which share subpages because they have the same name.
Specifically, I would like to know if it's OK for me to create a new page for the Netflix show with a redirect, or if it needs to be cleared with someone.
Edited by AzureOwlopenConcerns regarding troper and potentially agenda based editing.
Emperor Dingus only has six edits
to their name atm in the last year, but three of them specifically involve removing entries that relate to LGBTQ+ matters.
- They removed several entries
from the YMMV page for Flash-Gitz Animation that pertained to the subjects stances on gender and pronouns with the edit reason "All these feel more like complaints then a relevant info"
- They removed an entry
on She's a Man in Japan for Kino's Journey that stated the titular character rejected gendering and were enby with the reason "That's not true she just uses gender neutral language".
- They removed an entry on Gintama for Trans Audience Interpretation regarding the character Yagyuu Kyubei
without an edit reason.
openPage Idea Western Animation
I was thinking of a something called "Shredded Abs" where the characters have visible abdominal muscles what do you say?
openPlaying With Trivia/YMMV Cleanup?
I have been noticing a ton of Trivia and YMMV pages that have entries playing with these types of tropes, despite the fact that YMMV and Trivia tropes cannot be played with. Is there a sort of cleanup thread for this issue? If not, then I might as well consider starting one myself, since I do want to remove and fix these types of entries.
openAlternative Titles for Snowclones
Do Alternative Titles for tropes count as Snowclones? Because I'm making an alternate title to Implied Death Threat called Implied Ass Kicking Threat (for non-lethal threats).
resolved Can you make a Recap page if the work doesn't have a page yet? Videogame
I'm kicking around the idea of recapping Microid Games' Hercule Poirot games (or at least the two I know I've played, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile). However, these games don't have pages yet, and I don't know if I have what it takes to make new ones. I suppose if I could, I could whip up some pages with 10 tropes each at least, but that strikes me as kinda lame. So, would I be allowed to Recap them and maybe the pages could come later, or no?
If this means anything, there is a Complete Monster entry for the villain of "Orient" (which was pitched by me, btw).

resolved Are Steam Community Market tips allowed in Boring But Practical? Videogame
I was thinking of adding some of the general advise traders use to Boring, but Practical but I'm not sure if that's allowed since it deals with real world money. Also not entirely sure where it would be put. I'm not sure if video games fit considering Steam itself isn't really a video game.
resolved Sayaka sock?
Sorry if I'm jumping the gun, but I have a suspicion that Karinros100
is Sayaka ban evading again. They've only made one edit
, but the fact that their very first edit just so happened to be on the exact same MST3K recap page as so many of their socks does make me wonder.
openIs it okay for a trope page to have too many spoiler tags?
So, I was editing the page for Simon's Book and I started to wonder if maybe I put in too many spoiler tags on the page and should I remove some of the spoiler tags on the page? Also, how often do you need to have spoiler tags on a trope page?
openSonic underground recap Page
Hey I would like to report a problem most most of the entries in thesonic Underground recap page Have Tropes without descriptions For example , it would list a heel Face turn without saying who did it. I would definitely appreciate assistance on this matter.Thank you.
openChanging the title on Rabbit Ears Productions Page Western Animation
So, I was wondering about how do I change the title on a trope page? I wanted to change the title on the Rabbit Ears Productions page to Rabbit Ears Entertainment, since Rabbit Ears Productions was the old title name that the company had for itself during the 1980s and the 1990s. Nowadays, they go by the name Rabbit Ears Entertainment.
openIgnored grammar notifiers
I have sent xxminermaoxx two grammar
notifiers
for bulk edits to YMMV.SCP Foundation that were filled with errors, though they seem to have made more beforehand.
Two days ago, they made another such edit
. Their forum history is blank, indicating they have made no attempt to consult GHWE.

Putting this here both for consensus and because I can't make a new Image Pickin' thread right now.
The current page image for Ear Notch seems kinda lazy. It's just a seemingly random picture of a character with a notched ear far off to the side with an arrow pointing towards it. I think a better option would be an image that draws attention to the notch naturally instead of literally pointing to it. Also: According to both the page source and the edit history, the current image was put there around the time the page was first created, and no Crowner or Image Pickin' thread has been made to change or keep it.
NB: The image quote doesn't demonstrate the trope or match the image properly, I think it should be replaced as well.
