open ressurection or reincarnation after death Literature
The Philip Jose Farmer series "Riverworld" depicted an after life where people were reincarnated or resurrected on another planet as their original selves. I would like to know if the series was the first in printed fiction that explored this concept.
openMaking heroes Literature
HELLO!! I just discovered this website today and i love it!....in trying to come up with a unique way to give a good number of the population superpowers in a modern day setting, i came up with the idea to have an isolated group of people "discovered". Does this sound like a workable idea? if so what details could i add in order to make the idea of an isolated group of super powered people go undetected for so long? and how much time would it take before they seamlessly co exists with the rest of humanity? THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Edited by xos3open Analysis Literature
The "Analysis" namespace is supposed to be use to write an actual analysis for a given work, and not just link to someone else's. Because Evighet
has just created an unindexed analysis page for The Fault in Our Stars, containing only a link to an unfinished off-site multi-part negative review for the work, which they don't appear to have written themselves.
open Vandalism Literature
A new editor/account griffinc1807
has made multiple edits on the page for American Psycho, deliberately adding "examples" for non-existent "tropes" about things that do not occur within the work.
openCan I add a list of all the plot holes of this story? Literature
I have read the book, and made this synopsis divided by chapters. This story is infamous for having lots of inconsistencies and plot holes. Can I list such plot holes in this page?
openAre there more books like this trope? Literature
I am looking for tropes that revolve around a guy who is kind of a vain, boyish person but is also very lovable and has many redeeming qualities. The most appropriate book that comes to mind is To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. Peter Kavinsky is the perfect example. Can anyone tell me if there are more characters like him? What is his trope?
openFound a page that needs a revert Literature
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=FanFic.BetterLeftUnsaid#
- looks like the page got overwritten by accident. Can a mod hit the revert button? (it doesn't appear I can do it myself).
openTroper with an agenda Literature
Tropers. One Knight In Bangkok really has it in for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Even if they're right (i haven't read the book so i don't know) the fanfic rec and edits are going WAY too far. i think.

openWhich spelling to use? Literature
I'm thinking about making a page for an Older Than Print creator, but the trouble is that they suffer from a severe case of Spell My Name With An S.
- Spelling A appears to be the way the author wrote their own name in Latin.
- One of the two translations I have access to, which seems to be most popular/well-known, uses Spelling B. (This is not, however, the most recent translation — and the sheer diversity of spellings, among other issues, makes seeking out the very most recent rather sticky.)
- The other, even older translation I have access to uses Spelling C (which is a slight simplification/Anglicization of B) on the grounds that it is "more easily pronounced and more pleasant to the eye."
- A rare mention of the author in a famous novel uses Spelling B.
- The Other Wiki uses Spelling A, while noting the existence of B, C, and several others.
On the basis of this, would one of these spellings be considered "more official" than another, or can I just pick one?
openNamespace Help Literature
Hi, I want to create pages for a couple of the stories in Ovid's Metamorpheses (shorter works that are part of the whole), and I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what namespace to use and how to index the page. I'd like for it to show up as a subheading for Metamorpheses on https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ClassicLiterature
and for the Metamorpheses page to link to it. The stories I am creating pages for are Arachne, Icarus and Daedalus, Narcissus and Echo. I am new to making pages so any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
openOdd Trope Organizing Literature
Addergoole has its tropes formated in a way I haven't seen before: they're separated into two folders, "Character Tropes" and "Plot Tropes".
Should it be left like that, or should I get rid of the folders and alphabetize them all together?
Edited by OrbitingopenYoung Adult Literature Literature
While a work can have multiple demographics, Young Adult Literature stated, "[c]urrently, Young Adult is mostly a marketing concept[...]". Does that mean a Children's Literature work marketed to 10-12 is not also Young Adult, despite content-wise the work in question have elements of Young Adult as discussed in that article's lead?
open Fanart for works page images Literature
I'm planning to make a page for a work of literature. The official book covers are all pretty minimal and wouldn't look good on the page. I've seen a really kickass piece of fanart (a portrait of the main character) that I'd like to use if I can get the creator's permission. Is there any policy that would oppose this?
openAn Elegy for the Still-Living Literature
I've been lurking on this site for almost a year now, and this page has caused me to finally create an account. I was intrigued by the book, but a search has turned up no information about it *at all* outside this wiki: no website, no stores selling it, no forum discussions, not even the name of the author. Is it possible that the page is some sort of elaborate ruse? Given the supposed subject material, perhaps the book transcends such petty things as reality. Anyway, does anyone have any information besides what is already present of the page?
openHarry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Literature
I see several tropes listed on the Literature page that are essentially dependent on later books in the series. For instance, there is an example listed under Ironic Echo that is actually from the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in which a line from the first book is Ironically Echoed. Similarly, there is an example listed under Generation Xerox that is actually found in Book 7, in which the generation from the first book is being Xeroxed.
That's wrong, isn't it? Those examples are appropriate for Book 7 but not Book 1.
EDIT: Also a lot of natter in Moral Guardians.
Edited by galliumopenRiordan Mythological Universe Literature
I was wondering if it might be good to create an umbrella page for the mythology stories by Rick Riordan since it's up to three mythologies by now and they are shown to exist all together in the same 'verse.
open Romeo and Juliet's deaths Literature
Which character played the biggest role in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet and how so?
open Does anyone know who wrote the short story "The Dumpster"? Literature
It's mentioned in Downer Ending/Literature and Be Careful What You Wish For tropes. After reading the synopses, I really want to read the story, but whoever added it to the pages didn't include any details such as author or character names and a Google search turned up nothing.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I'm not sure where else to post it. Any help would be gratefully received.
openTitles of Star Wars books Literature
Most articles for Star Wars literature only use the book's title without appending the Star Wars supertitle, but some with shorter titles do, such as Star Wars: Tarkin and Star Wars: Aftermath. I can see how Aftermath would be ambiguous without the supertitle, but Tarkin seems unlikely to be confused for anything else. Shatterpoint is an example of a short title that doesn't use the supertitle.
Point is, I'm planning to make a page for Star Wars: Kenobi. Should I use the full title or just Kenobi? Of note, Literature.Kenobi has three red wicks already but Literature.Star Wars Kenobi has none. Of course, whichever title I don't use can be a redirect.

I am planning to do projects about Brazilian and Portuguese Speaking media, more specifically Brazilian Literature and Films.
Any other active tropers, specially Lusophone ones, with the same interests?
