Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Alright since this thread is about me I will give my statement. I do admit that you do have some valid points and In many of those cases I was not acting super well, I have an issue where I like to state my thoughts without really thinking in some cases. I am also a pretty big stickler for the rules. I will take a break from the site and think about what I have done I don't really want to get in trouble more and I do apologize.
Also when it comes to the Discord stuff I wasn't being serious about that and was joking around with some friends.
The thing I am a bit confused on though is the "disregarding presented evidence and then not voting when they're corrected." I didn't respond to it at all after I was correct and the reason I didn't vote is that I don't know the character very well and I wasn't sure I never even downvoted to begin with just brought up something I thought was disqualifying until it turned about it wasn't.
↑↑ I've seen the chat - you literally went out of your way to say you were being serious.
↑ That's literally my point - you raised a concern I'd already talked about while claiming it was your issue with the character, and then when corrected you just moved on. You have a very consistent habit of not voting on other people's candidates, in fact you often outright change the conversation - those were just two of mine, not even the others I've seen.
↓ At least not actively changing the subject away, it's a pattern and I'm not the only person whose noticed it. If it happened once or twice then it wouldn't be an issue, but it happens all the time
Edited by STARCRUSHER99TBH, entirely disregarding the Discord image—I can verify it exists but that's off-site drama by definition, so it's neither here nor there—there's enough visible evidence of problematic, hostile and uncooperative behavior with this user that some moderator action would be appreciated. Bumping this.
Alright, the Discord stuff is clearly just going to lead to more denial playing and I'm not gonna comment on it too much as the main person you were repeatedly and viciously trying to play bad faith cards to see banned. What I will focus on is the fact this intense rage you get driven to is literally born out of debates where you don't like the result. You get hostile, you refuse to accept consensus and repeatedly won't quit until threatened with mod action and each time after you say you're done you return to a new topic with the same unpleasant and unproductive stance.
You've outright told me you don't care what I have to say until your comment was thumped. You've dragged out countless debates for pages more than they need be. You frequently respond to having rules explained to you by angrily insisting everyone agree with you that your stance is correct by some technicality. You say again and again that this will stop yet it repeats. I don't know what it's going to take to solve this but it shouldn't have happened in the first place, it's an elephant in the room every time you elect to drag out another topic and we need to find a solution here because it's not fair to have to keep coming back to.
I noticed that as well but didn't want to jump to conclusions - I would greatly appreciate it if a mod could step in at this point
↓ While resurrecting queries that have been answered for two
or three
days now? Even if you had no ill intention that's still disrupting the important ATT matters by bumping current stuff off the front page
I can see how that looks but that wasn't my intention I was just bored and felt like commenting on some of them since I had something to say.
↑ That one was because I noticed the weird text and wanted to know why not realizing that it had already been answered. And the other one I was interested in commenting on.
I want the thread to be commented on by a mod as much as you.
Edited by Ordeaux26Fair enough, I didn’t see you responded to my other ATT again. If I had, I would’ve made this private from the start, so I’m sorry about that. I'm still willing to share the screenshots of the matter - I can PM them to you if you'd like - but I'm sorry for making this public, and if this somehow happens again I swear to handle it privately.
What can be done here? They said they’d take a break from the site and then almost bumped the report off the main page - ill intention or not, he still bumped ongoing queries off the main page in favor of ones that had been answered for two or three days, so I’m not convinced his remorse is genuine, especially since they’ve “apologized” for their behavior dozens of times now and has never meaningfully changed. I would greatly appreciate it if there anything that can be done

To be honest, this one's a bit of a long time coming, but I got some information recently that makes this rather necessary - I truly apologize if this is too long, but I'd like to report a Troper by the name of Ordeaux26.
They're active on the forums, particularly the CM and MB forums, and they have a trackable pattern of misbehavior. They have a tendency to stage essentially one-man wars on issues that have clearly already been decided, such as in this discussion
and this one
(that second one was blanked, but others pulled quotes) - now disagreement is welcomed on the threads, but their method of "disagreement" involves accusing everyone else of not understanding the trope, disregarding any attempts at counterarguments, and in some cases literally creating evidence that doesn't exist to prove their point. They have behaved incredibly oddly when voting on candidates, such as disregarding presented evidence and then not voting when they're corrected
, complaining about the length of one section of an EP (and then not voting)
and disregarding a blatant disqualifying feature while accusing everyone else of cherry picking his post out of nowhere
. They're also currently trying to jam through a project involving moving Web Novels to their own place instead of Literature
, even though everyone else, including Septimus, is telling him to hold off on it and wait for more opinions (which he got from Septimus saying they should create a wiki talk about it
and essentially disregarded).
Now I realize that this is another CM/MB issue - Lord knows we have a lot of those - but this continues outside of those threads as well. On the TRS thread for 0% Approval Rating, their strategy of discussion is just stating their own opinion over and over even when the topic was different and crowners were being created
, and he essentially tried to declare the trope unsavable just because the thread got to four pages
. They also then repeatedly demanded that everyone explain why their idea was getting downvoted
, and it took another half a page before they just created the Trope they wanted themselves on the TLP. They also tried to claim credit for the site-wide image glitch
and got in a semantics debate over Disproportionate Retribution by claiming that tropes don't have to be intentional in order to count, even though everyone else on the thread disagreed with him and he refused to drop it
- he even dismissed any counterarguments as opinions instead of site-wide facts. Overall, even when he's handling a situation through the proper channels, it never feels like he's acting in good faith - he's constantly trying to brute force his way through arguments to get what he wants, even when literally everyone else in the conversation disagrees.
Edit: Deleting off-site stuff; unprivated as evidence in another matter
I would greatly appreciate it if something could be done about this.
