Hello there, what is the problem?
The She-Ra entry I wrote it from the viewpoint of an observer and I added the LGBT+ stuff for context since Tumblr has lost a lot of relevance as many people will not understand what even Tumblr is. I was going to write that Tumblr was a toxic social site but I decided against and I added their gushing for LGBT+ couples instead, I even added that the show lasted 5 seasons and that It had a fanbase and I mostly focused in the initial reaction to the reveal and the character designs which are what most people has talked about since the show premiered.
Is the show still nearly as controversial as it was when it premiered outside of certain fringe anti-SJW circles though? Because all I see is appreciation for its queer representation and complete apathy for the show otherwise. Most of the "controversy" is either standard They Changed It, Now It Sucks! complaining (which has mostly died down as people move on to other new reboots they hate) or just pure homophobia that isn't really unique to the show.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The problem is that many geek right-wing YouTube personalities such as Jeremy Hambley soured the perception of the people that didn't like the show so some are accusing me of being their fanboy or supporter.
I don't like people like The Quartening, Ben Shapiro, the Cynical Drinker, Jeremy from Geeks & Gamers and Nerdrotic among many others. They're too partisan and hyperbolic for my liking after they drank the Anti-SJW Redbull.
Edited by GoodGamer14But besides those extreme people, is the show really still controversial in the mainstream, at least any more than other modern reboots?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I actually wrote it after I saw two videos recently, one a retrospective and the other a podcast, both mentioned the backlash at the initial reaction and how it kind of soured the perception of the series among some fans and non-fans.
That's Tainted by the Preview.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. You know what, I better delete that entry myself since the discussion around it became political.
I don't consider myself a right-winger but I'm always observing them from afar metaphorically-speaking, I almost never agree with the geek rightwing personalities of YouTube but I'm always checking for their reactions or opinions, mostly because I don't like a lot left-leaning YouTubers for their ultra-liberal rants about white people and males.
She-Ra isn't Overshadowed by Controversy. It's very popular, it has a loving and large fanbase, and hardly anybody really talks about the initial controversy anymore except to dismiss it.
^^ There's a middle ground, y'know. You can find YouTube personalities who don't lean heavily one way or another, who aren't insane extremists from either side of the coin.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI removed the entry since I know fighting to keep it will only cause me more troubles.
I don't think anyone was trying to criticize you, just concerned if your edits were leaning too heavily on one side.
I'm aware the user Good Gamer 14 has already been discussed here previously (#1, #2, #3 and #4) for edit wars and potentially biased edits, as well as having been suspended before for their behavior, but I'd like to point this out.
Earlier they made this entry on the Western Animation folder for Overshadowed by Controversy here regarding the She-Ra reboot. When I brought it up on the cleanup thread for potentially being biased (as in, stating that the entry came off as blaming Tumblr and it's "obsession with LGBT+ couples" for the show's changes), at least three people stated to cut it on grounds of bias. This appears to align with one of the previous complaints about them changing a mention of Gamergate (I'm aware its a banned topic but this is what was discussed) to "culture war" and getting defensive about it.
Is their behavior concerning enough for a report?
