Do you mean Mark 6:4, "Then Jesus told them, 'A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.'"? It's not exactly the same thing, but it's what comes to mind when you say that...

That's not the one.

It's something along the lines of "The tailor hates no one more than the other tailors in town, and the painter the other painters, and the stonemason the other stonemasons." But I probably have all the example professions wrong, because I can't find it with Google or Bartlett's Quotations using the words I remember (and I've tried a lot of keyword combinations).
