I think that's it.
A really long time ago I saw part of a film on TV about a man in the present day who discovers a secret compartment in an antique desk with a message from a woman in the past. He writes a letter back to her and sends it through the post office and somehow the letter goes back in time to her and the two of them become pen pals sending letters to each other through time. I do not remember if the film explained how this works or why it is happening. One scene I remember in the film is that at some point the post office catches on fire and he goes into the burning building to mail a letter because somehow the letter needs to go through the post office in order to go back in time in order to send her an important message that somebody she knows is going to die soon if she doesn't stop them from doing some thing. I don't think I finished watching the film so I don't remember how it ended.
