The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Please Kill Me if It Satisfies You if they accept the possibility of being beaten to death, or if they are looking to be punished by the wronged party and are letting the wronged party decide any punishment, whether light or deadly.
The Ava example almost seems like an invoked My Fist Forgives You. "You will forgive me after punching me a few times."
Edited by KDOh, didn't know that one! Thanks for the link. I think both ones you mention are very close, but in those tropes the one doing the beating and the one asking for it have some history, I'm looking for something more like "Alex did something bad to Charlie, then Alex fights Bob (who has no relation to Charlie at all) and gets a beating from him".
I didn't give enough context, but in the Ava example the one doing the punching was actually not the one wronged by the main character to want that, just a side character who had other issues with the protagonist.
Is there a trope for when a character either doesn't fight back in a fight or provokes someone into attacking them because they're feeling guilty over something, did something bad or something bad happened to them and they actively want to get beaten because they feel they deserve it?
Examples I've found recently (but I know I've seen it before and would like to find more examples if there is a trope): Yasha from Critical Role goading her opponent into getting angrier and pulling her own punches. The titular character from the film Ava after she does something she finds repulsive afterwards, lets another character take a few swings at her without fighting back, confessing she did this bad thing to the attacker and then turning the tables and walking away.
I know Hit Me, Dammit! exists, I'm trying to find a more specific one, if it exists. Or just get specific examples if you know others.
