Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Link
for the quote in question. Yeah, that source link does look rather sketchy.
The Attention Whore quotes page has several entries in several folders, which one is questionable there?
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meLooks like all the quotes you mentioned were added by the same user, Chester Polarbear. It's been years since they made any edits, though. I suggest removing those kinds of quotes.
The questionable quote on the Attention Whore page is in the Real Life folder. Edited by Vandagyre Cave Johnson, we're done here.
Was just digging into it.
Chester Polarbear was suspended back in 2017 for making too many sex-related edits. Doesn't seem like all of them were reverted.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meI took the liberty to remove the contended Attention Whore quote as it doesn't fit the trope. I find the liked site hilarious, though. I'd agree on cutting the cheerleader quote page and the Ethical Slut quote page looks truly horrible as well.
Courtesy links to edits by Chester Polarbear on Quotes pages. I only included edits that added new quotes that are still included in the current version (I also included edits that deleted examples by other tropers). I haven't checked them for their contents for now.

Note that the site for the Cheerleader quote is made either by a troll invoking Poe's Law or a full-blown paranoid schizophrenic (the latter more likely).

We probably shouldn't give it publicity.
I also feel there needs to be a serious look at Quotes.Commie Nazis. Some are useful input from historians, if maybe too long for a quotes page. Some are memes about Nazbols, a real political faction that may bring to mind the trope, but doesn't fit (it's about outsiders confusing communists and Nazis). Some belong on The Horseshoe Effect. I'd like to have some discussion about it, but I'm not sure where.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but I'm not sure where to do so. Every now and then I come across quotes in certain tropes that, while they technically might fit (some being at best corner cases), they are from very obscure fringe internet sources, often extremely religious in nature.
For example, the Cheerleader's Are Evil trope has only one quote in it's quote page which comes from a conservative preacher's typed sermon, with a link to the website which the sermon was posted (which looks like it's from Y2K). The Ethical Slut quote page on the other hand has several quotes, but a lot of them are from similar source's and sites, with most the quotes being only tangentially related to the trope in question. The worst offender I have noticed in recent days is a quote on Attention Whore that (while technically could fit the trope) links to a site where the writer of said quote peddles their religious conspiracy theories about the Illuminati.
I honestly haven't contributed much to the site and I don't want to step on any toes in case of rules I am unaware of. Should something be done in cases like this?
