Could they have been clips from the British series The Secret Life of Machines?

I know they showed the TV series on Discovery Channel at one time.
Many episodes are on You Tube.

Okay, tried this once, but nothing came up. I'm pretty sure it was on discovery channel, although it could have been national geographic. it was a serioes of shorts on everyday objetcs (coffee, money etc). It showed their history, partly with graphics, and partly with normal videos. it was narrated buy an older-sounding guy with a british accent, who talked much like peter jones (see: hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy radio play). they were only around 3-5 minutes long and they were played between shows if the gap was too big. (and no, it's now how it's made), but I can't even find any trace of them, although many people I know remembers them.
