Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

^For the second and third, at least, I’d say it doesn’t matter if they’re true or not, as objective tropes should not have how the audience reacted listed in their entry.
SoundCloudTo be frank, I've heard of some audiences leave the theater in disgust because of how disturbing it was (mother! (2017)) or how unfunny/gross it is (Holmes & Watson) but I haven't heard that people leave the movies because of the second example.
Edited by Bubblepig “What is that? It's The Unknown!”So should I remove the reactions in second and third example?
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”Alright then. But what to do with the first one?
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”I think for AHT to apply, it has to be marketed in a separate country and fail, for this to apply. I don't think simply ignoring a French film in America qualifies (because if it does, that means almost every movie not made in the US would apply as well).
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meEdit: Sorry, I misread it.

“What is that? It's The Unknown!”^^^Should I remove it then?
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”I'd remove it, but that's just my two cents.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meOh ok. I think this query is resolved. Thank you.
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”
I found some examples where I think audience react to the movie or tv show sounds kinda made up. So I want you guys to check if that's true. Here some examples: 1. From Intouchables.
- Americans Hate Tingle: A smashing hit in every country it was screened, with high critical praises... and a complete bomb in the United States, with generally negative reviews and racism accusations. Ironically, The Upside became a hit in States and a massive failure abroad with terrible reviews to boot.
2. From Gut Punch- Hereditary: The trailers for this movie strongly implied that the movie would be about a Creepy Child, 13-year-old Charlie, who has inherited something bad and/or supernatural from her dead grandmother. This is why her death by decapitation 45 minutes into the movie resulted in audiences screaming and leaving the theater in tears.
3. From No Ending.- The Sopranos infamously ended with a simple Smash to Black mid-scene. People who worked at cable companies had to answer hours and hours of angry phone calls because they thought something was wrong with their televisions; news programs even ran segments on it afterward.
1.Since when Americans hated it? I don't know if it's true that the remake is a massive failure since it has mixed reviews or it just me. 2. Who the hell act like that in a theater? I think that sounds like the troper is overreacting. 3. Is there's any proof that people have to answer every angry people's call? Anyways I don't know where Tropers found some "facts" So can you help me?. Note: I did put the first example in Fact check thread forum but no one answered. Edited by Bubblepig
