Either I am reading this wrong or you are saying they moved the example...to the same section it already was in? What?

"Troper Unicornia 1 has moved the section "A Hearth's Warming Tale Characters" from Friendship Is Magic: Historical Figures to Friendship Is Magic: Historical Figures (without even leaving an edit reason, by the way, meaning I had to look it up to make sure it wasn't mere vandalism) with just adding an Ambiguous Situation trope example arguing that the characters may actually be historical."

I think there's an error in your first sentence. You write that she moved it from Friendship Is Magic: Historical Figures to Friendship Is Magic: Historical Figures.

That is still the same page twice?

I think what StFan meant to say is that Unicornia1 reorganized the characters page and moved folders around on it without discussing it anywhere.

I've never seen MLP, so I can't comment on which organization scheme is better.

I checked, and they moved it from Characters.Friendship Is Magic Others. If I remember correctly, the Hearthwarming's Tale characters are from a fictional story, so calling them historical characters isn't quite accurate.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Yes, my bad, I mixed up my copy-and-paste of the links.

And yes, what I wanted to say is that the story was clearly meant to be Show Within a Show, and never described as historical. Thus the move was entirely based on speculation.

Yeah, I agree with StFan. The story the characters are from is simply presented as a novel or fairytale in-universe. The only justification given for the change are "that the story features the Windigoes and references Starswirl the Bearded" (historical in-universe figures) and "the show's theming of Real After All" (a lot of stories in the show have turned out to be real in-universe). I find neither to be a good argument. Any work set in a real time period is going to mention real people, places and things without being itself real history (for example, Les Misérables mentions a lot of actual French history, but it doesn't mean Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert really existed) and the show has had plenty of Shows Within a Show that didn't turn out to be real.

I agree, the characters can go back on the Other page.

I PM’d Unicornia1 and they said it’s fire to move them back to Other.
