You just did it. Going here and posting about it is how you report it.

Here according to this page it was done by corruptgroove who also said his baptism is "righting his wrongs" or some other weird shit

You should also link their edits and/or page in question as well.

I don't know exactly what kind of namespace Oscar Wildes has, otherwise I'd easily do so. You can refer to it as a "courtesy link". It makes it faster for everyone to reply and see the situation, as well as the moderation able to easily take action if needed.

And ninja'd enough I don't need to gather the links. Thanks~

Yikes... (the offending parts in bold):

His fun was interrupted when he sued for libel over being called homosexual. He was indeed homosexual (an affliction he struggled with, as evidenced by his calling it a pathology) as a significant number of young men testified at his trial. note  British law would still have found for him if that had been considered irrelevant.note  When he lost, he was sent to jail for hard labor, which severely damaged his health. Upon his release, Wilde, suffering gravely from health issues due to the dismal conditions of Reading Gaol, spent the last few years of his life in poverty and ignominy, unable to see his sons and cut off from the company he formerly kept. His time in prison having sobered him, Wilde sought to make right for his wrongs and received a conditional baptism at the hands of a Passionist priest on his deathbed, closing the final chapter in his life.

^^ Eww... either the editor has a homophobic agenda or has accidently laid a minefield of Unfortunate Implications. Get rid of it.

It's been going on back and forth since March. They've added it to the page a total of three times, each time being deleted by the OP.

EDIT: They've also been edit warring on the Oscar Wilde Tear Jerker page with similar edits.

Poph, have you sent them any notifiers or P Ms?

So its an Edit War as well.

Hey only saw all these messages now as I didn't realise the site doesn't notify you when people respond. Glad to know this is where you report stuff.

To clarify, yes to my knowledge I have reverted the edit before. To my knowledge though including this time it was only twice, not three times. I started looking for a way to report when I saw it was back there again. I also haven't tried to contact them as I don't think it would really be fruitful nor would I be comfortable.

The relevant passages were removed three times by different tropers, the first time by mercutiyo2003, then by poph, then by me. Today they have been removed again by poph.

Two reverts means poph is also edit warring, for what that's worth.

The issue is solved. Stop feeding the trolls, people.

@Rally Bot 2: Is that directed at me? I was just mentioning it because Arctimon falsely stated that corruptgroove's edits were reverted three times by the OP (poph), implying that poph was edit warring (he wasn't). Poph's second deletion happened after Arctimon's post and after several other tropers had expressed support for another deletion. I don't think I am feeding the trolls, and in fact, I don't think anybody here is trolling.

^^ No, it's directed at the general fact that threads about attention-seeking morons (aka vandals) tend to turn into a peanut gallery after a while.

Arctimon (4 Score & 7 Years Ago)

I don't normally pop back in threads after mods have weighed in, but I feel like I have to say something.

Yes, I misread the edit history. There was another troper that removed the offending edit earlier in the year, and I must have thought it was poph's edit. That was my mistake, and I apologize for insinuating they were edit warring as well.

But Rally, your comments is not helping anything at all. Prematurely calling the issue done with no moderation input and calling people morons does not contribute to any productive result in any way.

Since Septimus has suspended the user, now we can close this query.
