Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

This is a problem with troping unreleased works. I genuinely don't know what we should do in the case where a work is canned before getting out there. That's why I supported putting these pages into Darth Wiki. Assuming everyone followed the rules, there are a reasonable number of examples, it isn't a stub, everything can be verified... but there just isn't a work and we put a lot of time into making a page for it.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. For what it's worth, Sonic Xtreme is a page for a canceled work that still stays up despite being canceled.
I think for a canceled work to stay up, there should be a good amount of tropes at least relating to What Could Have Been and the actual development of the work itself, such as with the case in regards to X-Treme. If there are only one or two tropes overall, then it's probably worth cutting.
Editing: Having looked at the pages, I feel like documenting the controversy surrounding it may be enough to keep it, provided the examples don't get overly negative.
Edited by TokoWHHas there been an official announcement stating its cancellation?
(Don't) take me home. There has not. There's the rub: There have been no announcements about its cancellation, but the characters don't seem to be planned to be in anything coming out ever.
Marvel seems to have decided not to use them at all.
We should probably wait until the 27th to do anything, since that's the outlet that most websites are showing as the release.
My Fanfiction.net Page My DeviantArt PageIf it's officially cancelled, we'd have to move the page to Darth Wiki if there's enough tropes left to document, right? This means cutting the YMMV subpage though.
v Ah, I misunderstood the scope of Unpublished Works then. My bad.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.NO, we wouldn't move it to Darth Wiki. Unpublished Works are banished to Darth Wiki because no one but the author can verify which tropes are present in them. That's what makes them unpublished. With a cancelled work, we CAN see some tropes in the promotional material. Those tropes would just have to specify that they're based on the trailers.
It's not on Comixology, though. And it's not mentioned at all on Marvel's list of upcoming releases. If Marvel were releasing it, they wouldn't hide it from their own website's visitors.
^^ Technically should've been doing that already, but such is life.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. The page has only two trope entries: a Zero-Context Example of The Bus Came Back (a commonly-misused trope as it only applies to characters that were Put on a Bus in the first place, which requires them to be explicitly written out as opposed to merely not appearing for a while) and Fad Super, which lacks citation to a publicly-released source.
At no point since the page was created this past April, in other words, has it ever even come close to meeting the minimum criteria for pageworthiness.
I move that it be cutlisted.
Edited by HighCrateSo experimental internet gas will not be a canonical thing in the Marvel Universe? Alas.
I agree with High Crate, honestly - while the trailer and apparently-fatal backlash to it could, IMO, make for an actual page even if the work is canceled, the page that exists now is a complete nothing.
You've missed the extensive Character subpage, which didn't need to be created yet, but has more than enough tropes to keep the page (if they can be verified).
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I thought that only tropes on a work's main page were counted when it comes to asking if the page is a stub or not.
That said, the character sheet is also lacking in citations, and there's some clear misuse there too (like trying to apply Guys Smash, Girls Shoot to an offense/defense pair who don't do any smashing, to say nothing of how it's calling a non-binary character a girl).
But anyway, I think this discussion can be put on hold until the comic misses its release date, and then we can figure out what to do with it.
Edited by Serac^ Well, yeah, we actually do count examples on character pages because character pages are basically an extension of the main page. Some roleplays have been saved, for example, because we found examples to move over.
Current Project: The TeamThat said, if a page doesn't have enough example to stand on its own, splitting it into subpages is probably unnecessary.
Oh, absolutely.
Current Project: The TeamFor the record: today's the release date, and not a single webpage mentioned here actually has it for sale.
New Warriors 2020 seems like it's cancelled. (You know, the one with the superheroes Safespace, Snowflake and Screentime.)
I can't find it listed anywhere, except a webpage that doesn't seem like it's gonna offer it for sale the supposed release day.
Should we cut list it?
