Time period: 2012-15 Genre: indie horror Important bits: impossible space and stuff constantly appearing just outside your vision, flesh monsters defeated by light sources
There was a certain game from the era played by both SBFP and Markiplier, but the videos seem to have either been taken down or I am shit at finding em. The game had you starting out in a desert. You turn around a few times and a house spawns, then you enter and some stuff outside spawns. Go out, enter a freaky mineshaft/cavern/labyrinth, get back outside in a completely different region despite only moving around 80 feet, and follow a railroad to a ghost town. After it turns to night, you have to escape/disable enemy monsters with different forms of light such as torches, flares, flashlights, or praying you are faster.
