One of your examples on NWTB was missing a period, the Club Penguin stuff had some missing words and incorrect grammar.

I mean, is the "English is poor" notifier only for major cases of incorrect English grammar, such as You No Take Candle? I don't think minor cases of incorrect grammar needs to be notified, because we're casuals and not writing a formal paper.

If you wonder why somebody sent you a notifier, the most efficient way to get an answer must surely be to reply to the message and ask the sender directly?

I'm sorry. This was a knee-jerk reaction I wanted others to respond to, because that's my habit and I have troubles understanding people sometimes.

"the most grammatically I can" is poor English. It should be "as grammatically correct as possible" or just "with perfect grammar."

And respectfully, that kind of thing is the reason you get notifiers.

Should I go back to English class?

Also, I looked through your history, and long story short, you keep making several different kinds of mistakes when you're editing. I'd advise you to read through the Administrivia pages about how to trope properly, before you keep troping. Otherwise, there's a risk that you'll just create stuff that needs clean-up.

Also TV Tropes, while casual in writing Style, DOES aim for professionalism in its grammar. So even minor mistakes are warning worthy.

Panda, I've never actually seen you make a grammar mistake most of the time; then again, I've only ever seen your forum & ATT posts, so...

How's your day been?

I used to overestimate my level in English too, but being suspended and having to go on the "Help with English" topic made me realise I would make errors very often. If you are being called on your poor English, it's better to question yourself and verifying by showing the edits you want to do to people instead of arguing about the notifiers.

A common trick that sometimes helps I've used is to read what you've written out loud. Can sometimes help spot odd or awkward wording or misspells.

While I personally wouldn't send those notifiers except under more serious circumstances, the NWTB page is problematic since it's a page that's literally two entries, neither of which is a complete sentence, one of which is horrendously phrased ("now with a metal flavor that rocks it more awesome" genuinely sounds like engrish).
