That sounds...suspect. I don't think it is advisable. I think it would be akin to a creator adding YMMV items to a page for their own work, seeing as there is bias there.

Eh, the review itself is a retrospective if anything, one that the author is pretty neutral and level-headed about. I don't think it's harming anything.

My understanding is that self-reviews of any sort are not allowed on this site. I worry about the precedent being set if it's allowed to stand, even if it's self-deprecating. I'm thinking the letter of the law is paramount here.

It's not absurdly out of hand or anything, but that's simply not the function of a review. I've PM'ed them to provide their thoughts here. Will likely end up of deleting.

Personally, I don't think that this review merits any action, including deletion. Besides, the letter of the law is "no Audience Reaction examples from authors" - examples, nothing about reviews there.

Delete if you want, I wasn't aware there were rules against this sort of thing.

We've just never had to make a call on it before. A review is a review; a conventional definition of the term excludes the author's comments.

So...how is a retrospective not a review?

EDIT: Is there a way to delete this comment? I didn't realize how snarky it sounded.

From How to Create a Work's Page under one of the Frequently Asked Questions: Can I make a page for a work I created?

You are also not allowed to create or add items to a YMMV subpage or related subpages, and you may not review your own work or add recommendations for your own work.

No. Self reviews are not allowed.
