I don't think it was Disney who cancelled it. I thought there was a Misblamed entry somewhere covering that.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Hello, snivyTsutarja here.
I've looked around the internet from reliable news sources, and I didn't see anything mentioning that Warner Bros/Cartoon Network was the reason for the show getting cancelled. So that was the reason why I decided to delete it because there was little evidence on it other than speculation.
I did remove the post on instinct, so in hindsight I should have talked about it first before removing.
The best reliable source I could get is Wired quoting the official post since the original announcement got taken down. "After five highly successful and critically acclaimed seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we feel the time has come to wind down the series." Source: https://www.wired.com/2013/03/disney-clone-wars-cancelled/
Obviously the official quote is just PR speak, but tbh we still don't know the official reason it got cancelled other than speculation (i.e. low ratings is likely why it got cancelled).
Edited by snivyTsutarja"a partnership announced today between Lucasfilm Ltd., Warner Bros. Pictures and Turner Broadcasting System Inc." — original post from the Star Wars website saying that the series was owned by Warner Bros.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network are both under the same corporate umbrella with WarnerMedianote .
And yes, you are correct that WB was only involved with the movie; CN aired the TV show, but both were distributed under Time Warner.

Trivia.Star Wars The Clone Wars
Undermined By Reality Is when the Aesop/messages of the work is contradicted by the real life happenings of the creators. I don’t think an advertising campaign is an Aesop/message of the work and it looks like complaining when Disney is reversing what the entry is criticizing them for. Thoughts?
