Probably the closest thing. I was thinking about when the glurge is used to contrast a darker reality of the show or its production (the Close Enough example had reality turning into a sitcom to display how the escapism was bad), which maybe could be an in-universe variation of Angst? What Angst?.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I don't think it's Glurge, which seems specifically about "inspirational" and "emotional" stories that are actually shallow and hard to swallow.
I think Subverted Kids' Show is more accurate.

Is there a trope for an in-universe sitcom (specifically send-ups of cheesy Cliché Storm sitcoms of the 70's, 80's, and 90's) being mocked as overly cloying and/or revealed to have some darkness either inherent in the falseness or in behind-the-scenes antics?
The best example I can think of is BoJack Horseman's in-universe sitcom being constantly deconstructed, but the second episode of Close Enough uses a Full House parody to represent an eerie escapist lifestyle in a similar way. Does this fall under Subverted Kids' Show or is it just a typical Take That! to this genre of sitcoms?
