Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I was about to ask the same thing about Pacifist Run, I've got no idea why that's a YMMV trope all of a sudden.
It's kind of my fault, actually... I made a TRS to make Self-Imposed Challenge an Audience Reaction (since it's something that happens in the audience, not the work itself) but I didn't think things through and ended up moving all of its subtropes to YMMV too. Sorry about that.
Hm. So these are subtropes of both Self-Imposed Challenge and Challenge Run? But that's not how subtrope-supertrope relationships work... It's not that different doing a Pacifist Run because the game gave you an option versus you just feeling like it, the main difference is that one of those things is actually part of the work.
I'm not sure how to handle this.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.I agree that neither Pacifist Run nor No-Damage Run should be YMMV. Instances of those that are enforced by players are simply part of Self-Imposed Challenge.
I was wondering the same about Unwinnable by Insanity, because all of the examples placed there happen objectively.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311^ I believe the reasoning for Unwinnable by Insanity being YMMV is that what constitutes "insanity" is a judgement call.
... Which I never really agreed with, but never mind.
Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.

No-Damage Run has the YMMV banner (possibly because it's a subtrope of Self-Imposed Challenge), but all of the on-page examples are objective rewards that games have for completing some part of them without getting hit, and only 71 of its 594 wicks (~12%) are on YMMV pages. Is there a long-term projects thread I can take it to (like with Trivia pages), or does it need to go on Tropes Needing TRS?
