"However, I think this kind of "listen to this" external link shouldn't be allow at all in trope page."

I agree, FWIW.

Yea, it’s pretty much distracts the reader of the article finding out what this ambient music is. Weblinks Are Not Examples and all that jazz.

rjd is a veteran troper and should really know better than this, what the heck

Looks like a link to an offsite video was first added in 2013, with the link updated a few times (either to fix a dead link, find a better version, etc.), with JustTroper being the first outright change to the music in question. Bringing this up because it places rjd's actions in a slightly different light: they were adding back an offsite link with a URL update only, not being the original person to place such a link on the page.

Oh, I see. Checked the history, the link was removed for almost a year.

Well, I still don't think we should have "listen to this" external link on trope page.

Yeah, a Virtual Soundtrack for a trope that isn't music-related is just a distraction.

Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.

If the music exemplifies the trope, then it should have a place as an example (but even then just a link isn't enough), but if it just induces the right mood in the person who put the link there I don't think it should be in the description.
