They're clearly shout-outs. Memetic Mutation is for things in the work itself that have become memes; not things in other works.
The sentence was made up by fans, but the original The Dark Knight quote it's based on goes "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
In the My Next Life As A Villainess All Routes Lead To Doom version, the position of "villain" and "hero" are reversed and the words are changed to their feminine variants. For context, part of the plot involves an Alpha Bitch in the making becoming aware she's going to have a Karmic Death later in life; her efforts to avoid it result in her becoming a much nicer person and finding herself in the position of a typical heroine of the genre.

Recently, two Memetic Mutation entries for My Next Life As A Villainess All Routes Lead To Doom were removed with the edit reason "I don't think those really qualify since they are memes from other works, not ones caused by this.". The removed memes are basically story-appropriate twists on famous quotes from The Dark Knight and Untitled Goose Game.
Since references to other works found in the work itself have always had their place on the wiki, it feels a little strange to see things being removed on the basis that they are basically the fandom doing the same thing. I thought it might be a good idea to see what others think.
