Hello there!
Back when I was a kid, should be around 15 years ago, but I'm not too sure, I saw some short movies on television that... let's say, they left an impression on my mind. They weren't quite horror themed or explicitly scary, but definitely nothing my parents would have approved of me watching.
As the title suggests, they were stop motion, and when I say "short movies", I mean about one to three minutes each, if I remember correctly. I think I saw them on MTV, and they were aired in between "regular" segments. While there was no apparent connection between them, I'm certain that they were made by the same creators, as they had the same style and "feel" to them.
These movies were rather... let's call it "melancholy", and portrayed only a situation without going into detail about the context; as far as I can recall, there was also no dialogue or any spoken word at all. I only remember two of these (not even sure if I watched more of them):
The first one is really vague in my memory, it showed a cockroach starting its daily routine, the main part of which consisted of ripping off its own head and replacing it with another one. The camera then panned out to show a huge storage with dozens of "replacement heads".
The second was about a man riding an elevator, which suddenly got stuck (and might have crashed down, as well). The man attempts to get out or get help, without any success. The scene then changes after apparently some time has passed; the man is still stuck in the elevator, sitting slouched down with his back against the wall, I think there were stubbles in his face that weren't there before and he looked rather broken. What I remember clearly is how he reached into his pocket, grabbed a card (probably from his wallet) and eating it.
I'm fairly sure that this isn't just all I remember about those two movies, that really was all there is to it - the situations didn't get resolved in any way, they just ended how I described them. I should also mention that I watched them in Germany; however, as there was no dialogue or text, I can't really tell where they were produced.
If you remember anything else about this or could even point me towards where I can find these movies or who created them, I would be really grateful!
