I... do not think Fight Scene Failure can apply to written word. It's a reaction to a visual scene and specifically about it being fakey, not just less interesting.

I mean. I don't know what they expected.
The question of whether it can apply to the written word is a far better one.
Edited by wingedcatgirl Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.Yeah, YMMV is weird because it has objective and subjective criteria and is more based on fandom opinion than individual opinion, but the other troper seems to think that the subjectivity part doesn't exist.
Of course, the issue of "written word" is something we do need to figure out.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall

There are two people troping on it, myself and another, and I want to add this trope to YMMV
The other is very much not for it. This is his comment on the matter
'Fight Scene Failure' is purely a matter of opinion, so I don't think it applies here; at least They Copied It acknowledges that only some have that view.
...I asked a mod and I was told to bring it up here. So...here I am.
