Oh! I stumbled across the version with additional comics
if you're also looking for those!

I'm looking for a short (less than 5 pages, I think) one-shot comic that I first saw on the web a few years ago (maybe in 2015 - 2017?).
In the comic, a human magic user/ wizard has just battled and defeated a large monster. (I think the monster had snake or lizard-like features). As it lays dying, the monster taunts the wizard by saying something along the lines of "We can keep doing this again and again. I'll keep coming back, and one day I'll defeat you." The monster dies, and it reverts to a cute little baby-monster (either through a phoenix-rising-from-the-ashes attribute or because the wizard has cast an age-reversing spell on the creature - can't remember). The wizard gently scoops up the harmless baby monster carries it away, vowing to "try again" (the implication being that the wizard has been trying to raise the monster to be less monstrous, only to have to kill the creature when it becomes corrupted or evil).
I think I first saw this comic being reblogged on tumblr, but it may also have made the rounds on twitter or imgur.
