Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

I'd think... Yes? If Trope B is the Sub-Trope of Trope A, and Trope A is in an index...
I expect that people who use the index to find Trope A, would expect that Trope B is listed somewhere in the Index, because they're both related to the Index...
It might be best to use Special Markup: Anchor Points to make small, inside-trope-pages indexes, as viable to be linked from indexes.
And use whole URL potholing to stop the links from being redlinks. Unless that's hopefully out of date...
Well, if Hollywood Atlas, is that big, I'd say to split it into Hollywood Europe and other such regional indexes.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Yes, it's common, but I think it's clearly a violation of Example Indentation.
For example, see Horror Tropes. For now, it's organized like this:
I see no reason why it shouldn't be like this:
I say that tropes should always be listed in alphabetical order. If I'm looking to see if a certain trope is on a certain page, the first (and only) place I'm checking is that trope's alphabetical position on the list. If I'm lucky, I might notice the trope being sub-indented while scrolling, but otherwise, I'd end up missing it.
All I'll say is that the index page is talking about trope lists specifically, not indexes; it's telling people not to do bullshit like:
On a work's trope page.
Is it bad on indexes too? Maybe, but it's also so common and there's no explicit rule forbidding it.
Current Project: The TeamIndices should be in alphabetical order for the sake of page-bottom navigation, is my opinion.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. We seem to agree. But no Word of Mod. Is this something that will require more discussion in the forums? Do we need stronger consensus?
Well for this draft I will put them in alphabetical order. I don't know if we particularly need a codified policy though.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"
There's been a disagreement on a TLP draft about whether indexes can/should have subtropes as second-level bullets under the supertrope.
This is forbidden for works by Example Indentation in Trope Lists, but it is common on many indexes (for example, Hollywood Atlas). Is this kosher?
