This is actually a Video Game trope (although I didn't see that in the medium list). Is there a trope for a character who is widely considered an epic hero being made to go on inane sidequests?
My example is from Xenoblade, where one NPC says "You may be our only hope", and then a nearby NPC asks you to deliver some biscuits.
