I think, and I could be wrong, that the general rule of thumb is that if the quote is just from one person, it gets italicized if it's a page quote but not if it's part of a trope example, and quotes that are lines from more than one character aren't italicized, period.

Cases I'm not sure about (and which ^ doesn't cover) are:

  • song lyrics and poetry
  • quotes on quote subpages

It seems like italicizing quotes is bad form.
