Well, hmm...

I guess you'd have to say who you are, and where a reliable source for info is.

I can't see a way to correct info about you, without knowing who you are...

You could PM someone, and then they'd fix it, I suppose.

Yeah, I'm a tad bit skeptical here, but if a page is full of misinformation and you can prove it's misinformation, obviously you're welcome to fix it...

Who would be the best person to PM about this? Or is it acceptable to simply edit my own page?

I am also happy to do this via my official email address but when I emailed the mods I was redirected here... I’m not sure how I would “prove” it’s misinformation other than just saying “hey this is me and this is wrong” but it’s worth a shot.

You can edit it yourself as long as you follow the Creator Page Guidelines. Also, anything you add or change should be independently verifiable somehow. "This is true because I'm me and I say so" isn't very good justification, since we have no way to verify you're "you" or if the info is valid.

Link a Twitter statement, you could cite an interview or a Documentary. Ultimately, This Is a Wiki, and The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours. [Edit: Osu!]

I have never seen this policy being enforced. Why the wagging finger here?

We have been trying to apply this for pages about living people, because not doing so can get nasty. Though by this token, it is fine to remove anything that is not supported.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

Would everything still have to be independently verified if she proved it was her, like by posting a selfie not anywhere else on the internet?

You're welcome, Lady_Stardust.

Anyway, rjd, I'd say that since it's coming from the horse's mouth and we're not so big on citing sources, maybe not, but verifiability is a plus.

Well, it's common sense. We don't want any speculation or guessing. For creator pages (and any other pages), we post things that are verifiable — e.g. the information is known from released works, social media, press releases, imdb, wikipedia etc. The important thing is that it can be confirmed by others.

I believe this confusion might come from Administrivia. There Is No Such Thing As Notability — but that's a page that states that any work of fiction can be troped and is 'worthy' of an article here. It never meant that we can speculate or post unconfirmed stuff. And also the fact that we don't need to bother with citations and linking to sources all the time.

BTW I put the YMMV subpage to cutlist because audience reactions can't be applied to people. Creator pages can have YMMV subpage but it can mention works that don't have a TV Tropes page.

Lady_Stardust, you can edit the page as you see fit (I hope you don't plan to blank it completely ;-) as that would be against the rules). Just be sure you leave an edit reason.
