I agree, it's really obnoxious. I can sometimes get it to work if I click really fast, but I usually end up clicking too much and closing the note again before I can read it...

I usually can open the note fine, although I need to click again on the spoiler elsewhere than in the note to re-display it.
Then again I'm on a PC and not a phone or tablet, so maybe it's more problematic with the latters.
I put it in em dashes for now, as a temporary solution at least.
I think it should be forbidden since it's impossible to show it, clicking on "Note" simply cover text again.
Try it yourself, the first entry on Glass2019 has note markup in the middle of spoiler.
But Handling Spoilers say nothing about this issue.
