That's a good question, though I suppose it's hard to come up with an icon for that.

It's a peach, and apparently a reference to Prufrock, which contains lines musing about daring to do the mundane, including eating a peach. Don't know how it represents self-demonstrating. I'm wrong. I was overthinking it.

Yeeaaah that would go over many troper's heads mod. I get explaining it would be Captain Obvious style but still.

What else could you use as an icon for Self-Demonstrating? It's better than nothing IMO.

Was this an in-joke from the old staff from years ago?

I wouldn't call it an in-joke, or a joke at all for that matter. An orange orange really is an example of self-demonstration.

Yet it still went over a Troper's head and if it goes over one Troper's head how many more don't get it? If there's one there's more....

I didn't understand the joke either.

I didn't realize it was an orange. Looks more like a peach or apple.

I don't mind the joke, but I think we could potentially revisit namespace icons in general and maybe update some of them and finish out the ones that don't have icons yet.

Sandbox.Namespace Icons has some that haven't been implemented yet, but some of them would clash with the new "flat" style of the icons.

Yes, it's not obvious that it's an orange (it does look more than a peach), and I didn't get it either until it was pointed out, but what's the alternative?

Having done some UI design myself I sympathize with whoever decided on the orange: finding an icon that fits and is self-evident can be hard, and almost impossible at times. If somebody has a better suggestion for a self-referential icon, please make yourself heard.
