Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
In addition to that using "see other entry" instead of explaining in the example itself is a violation of Weblinks Are Not Examples.
Hrm.
So on one hand, sounds like regressive complaining about PC-culture that comes across as being a butthurt manchild which is the kind of stuff that makes the wiki look bad.
On the other hand, so long as it's a position that the builder is taking and espousing on the show and people actually feel this way rather than one bitter editor, it can certainly apply.
The entry itself is however terribly written ("gotten into this zone" is just ZCE word-cruft).
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. There was a lot of complaining about certain robots/rules on that YMMV page that has been trimmed out over the years, but somehow that's stayed up. A lot of it seemed to be things that upset or angered the individual troper who added it as opposed to the fanbase at large.
I'm pretty sure(?) I or other editors of that page removed something like this from that page a long while ago, and whoever added it put it back. On either the first or second episode of ABC's run of Battlebots, there was a vignette where female builders were interviewed about being women in the robotics field, which angered a small amount of fans. After that, the topic was never broached again, but the people who were upset about it kind of made a mountain out of a molehill about it online. It's no longer an issue in the fandom, particularly since that vignette aired four seasons ago and Chomp no longer competes on the program.
It's definitely not well written and it's certainly out of date. I'd say the part about Zoe can go.
Edited by thelivingtoadWhenever the word "agenda" pops up in an entry, it's a red flag for complaining about the quote unquote "SJW" (I despise the term) crowd and minority representation. Even if it's not ROCEJ, I'd say axe on that principle alone.
Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things.Well, between the fact it's A: At best a poorly written example, and B: According to a fan of the show, a poorly written, out of date, and inaccurate example, I'd say it can safely be axed.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.According to the edit history
, the entry was added by troper UltimateLazer. The timing of the entry coincides with the ABC season 2 airing where there has been a lot of complaints over the now-rectified rule overhaul, so it's definitely out-of-date.
In addition, the entire entry over Chomp is just riddled with Natter bulletpoint after bulletpoint, so I don't think it's worth salvaging even if I just removed the ROCEJ section from it.
There's also 4 bullets pertaining to how they subsequently zigzagged in popularity. I'm cutting since a proper entry would require so much reworking it might as well start from scratch. On that:
- Overhaul, due to its team being considered Sore Losers and completely over-reacting to being accidentally bumped into by Lockjaw a second or so after the buzzer ran out- to the point where they flat-out refused to shake hands with their opponent afterward.
I'm cutting this since it fails to explain why they're unintentionally hated and the hate seems to be directed at RL people. (I think reality TV should be exempt from The Scrappy as how can we tell if the hate's intentional or in if there's no narrative intent? Plus pushing into RL.)

I found this example on YMMV.Battle Bots under The Scrappy.
I highlighted the specific part in bold here because it seems to be complaining about the builder Zoe herself rather than the robot she built. Is this Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment?
