Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Me too. Right after the Hogan scandal, someone added Politically Incorrect Villain on his page, and I removed it since it was an attack on the person.
There are others I added a while back that I'm not sure of, such as the Berserk Button entries on Randy Savage's page about his overprotectiveness of Elizabeth (though that one was shared in Kayfabe too) and later the ones about his age and bald spot being mocked on the Billionaire Ted sketches which reportedly added fuel to the fire between him and WWE.
Edited by thecarolinabull01Shawn Michaels doesn't go back far enough to see who added the original entry.
There's also example indentation issues and a pothole of it, though I think another user removed the pothole usage as is.
The good news is nothing looks like a ban evader issue. The bad news is these are way too complainy. Any related to real life should be cut entirely. Or trimmed down if there's anything to salvage. I also am thinking Wrestlers shouldn't be able to have an Alternate Character Interpretation(a suggestion) due to them being Kayfabe naturally. It will always borderline on ROCEJ enough.
Shadow?~thecarolinabull01, regardless of the complaining issue, when you added the Hogan scenario to the Shawn Michaels entry, you created a second-level bullet as a response to a first-level bullet. that's not allowed under any circumstances. see Example Indentation.
Migrated to Chloe Jessica!Wrestlers are weird because they're playing personas, but it blurs into reality, making it a thin line. We definitely need to clean these pages up.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallWe could also add a commented out note about ROCEJ to each one as we find it. It's not that they can't have alternate characters, but the line blur makes it difficult to deal with.
The Bashing thread is probably the best place to bring it up if we need harder rule changes. Otherwise, this ATT might be enough for cleanup. The thread may be useful otherwise for cleanup.
Shadow?

One issue I've been coming across a lot lately on pro wrestling pages are tropes and YMMV entries speaking negatively about the wrestler's personal lives rather than professional lives, which I know is not normally allowed on here. For example: the Alternative Character Interpretation on the YMMV pages for Shawn Michaels and Diamond Dallas Page are aimed at the person, not their characters. TLDR: It says that Michaels' Born-Again Christianity is an act and that DDP is a scam artist: For the full version:
I'll admit that I contributed to these entrys (I didn't write them entirely, but the part about the Hogan scenario on Michaels and the Bischoff part on Page was my doing) but I've had a bit of a Heel Realization and was planning to delete them altogether, but they might be added back.
Further examples of this are the Broken Pedestal entry on Hulk Hogan's YMMV page (and Broken Pedestal isn't even an Audience Reaction:
And this Jerkass entry on Kevin Nash's page that is obviously calling Kevin Nash the person a Jerkass:
So yeah, I think pro wrestling pages need a lot more monitoring. I'd do it myself, but I'm trying to distance myself from it because I feel I've sort of outgrown it. I get that the lines between reality and fiction in the wrestling world isn't as cut and dry as it is in other media—primarily because for so many years wrestlers lived their gimmicks and even today tend to fully live by the Do Not Call Me "Paul" trope. Either way, this stuff doesn't belong on these pages in my opinion.
