Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
A general policy against exception-only tropes would be new information to me.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. It is a bad idea to have a trope where examples only consist in exceptions. Such a trope may work when it's limited to discussed, conversed examples similar to how Most Common Superpower is set up, but aversions don't work.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanShouldn't they be put through TRS or have a clean-up thread then? There are still several exceptions-only tropes.
^^Does this mean that we shouldn't have articles on omnipresent tropes at all? Because those are in effect exceptions-only since examples of omnipresent tropes are not considered noteworthy?
I remember in 2016 I drafted Theres No Such Thing As Gay Children as a counterpart to Nobody Over 50 Is Gay. shimaspawn mentioned that exceptions-only tropes don't work and the draft was nuked. Is anything being done about exceptions-only tropes then? Are they still allowed? The current tropes haven't gone through clean-ups.
