Yeah, Watchmen is Watchmen and anything else which uses Watchmen characters is its own work. Much like how Hook shouldn't affect the page for Peter Pan beyond an occasional reference.

As an aside, the Terminator pages are going through this problem right now, with several reboots and branching continuities that ignore the content of the others, such as the sixth movie being an Unreboot which ignores much of the previous works. To keep things consistent, it seems simpler to refer to each installment as a standalone, with the older works remaining unconcerned with changes or revelations made in later works, including the use of new character pages for returning characters in the newer work.

I prefer this being the general principle. A single medium or multimedium franchise page to discuss an overall series, but each installment only cares about previous installments, never future installments.
