What do you remember about the show?

If you're looking for a trope, not a show, you should ask at Lost And Found.

Sorry, I misspoke. It may be a trope, insofar as it shows up in several different shows, but, like I said, the scenes I mentioned are probably not the one I'm looking for. Thanks.

I know there was an episode of Seinfeld where Kramer and Jerry both started taking their pants off whenever they had to sit down or bend over so as to keep their pants crisp.

I think they were wearing tuxedos, and they meet one of the three tenors IIRC. Since they only remember two of the names (and he is the third) they only refer to him as "the other guy". Have to look that episode up.

Edit: It is Season 7, "The Doll". There is a scene in which several of the guys play billiard in a much too small room, all of them have their pants off to avoid creases.

It's not TV, but I just happened to read it: David Sedaris's essay "Laugh, Kookaburra," which was published in the New Yorker a couple of years ago, mentions that his father did this as soon as he got home ("as if pants were oppressive, like high heels").
