Also, I think the guy who kept faking his death used the "fake arrow through the head" trick at one point.

sounds like one of the Hammer Horror horror anthologies; these cheap horror movies often showed several short stories linked by a thematic device, and the movies, frequently repeated for TV, were a staple of British TV well into The '90s. Hammer also did three TV series, usually for an hour-long slot, but some were the British equivalent of TV movies and ran for up to 90 minutes.

Hmm... I don't think so. I've tried looking up the Hammer Horror anthologies and, correct me if I'm wrong, but they only showed a couple of stories/movies per episode. The show I'm thinking of had many clips, each one (probably) being no more than a couple of minutes long.
