Quite a few JFF pages about tropes which meet a certain not-too-serious criteria are indexed. I myself support indexing this as well.

Examples of similar pages are Trope Names for a Cocktail and Trope Names That Should Become Dance Crazes.

There isn't a limit on how many of these pages can be made (nor should there be), but how does a JFF list meet the requirements for an index? What exactly do we want to use indexes for?

I figure, indices are for grouping together tropes that have material similarities of some kind. These pages technically aren't about the tropes at all, just their names. So I'm thinking no.

I say no. Tropes on JFF have no similarities other than "they were the subject of this JFF". Indexing them just adds to index bloat.

So, don't make it an index?

I believe JustForFun.Television Is Trying To Kill Us is an appropriate use of indexing, as the tropes added to that page should have a Don't Try This at Home disclaimer, but usually don't.

JustForFun.Television Is Trying To Kill Us was originally a normal index in Main/, but was moved because I assume it was too subjective.
