I’m looking for a specific fable I can’t remember the name of.
It goes something like this: A old man takes his son for a walk with his horse across a bunch of villages. On the first village, they have the son on the horse, which everyone in the village complains about and insults him for not giving his old father the horse to ride since he’s too old to walk. On the next village, the father gets on the horse, which everyone in the next village complains about to. This repeats a few times until the father eventually tells his son “you see, no one will ever be happy with what you do sometimes, so don’t bother trying to make everyone happy”
