Beware of Vicious Dog. A dog character can be mean, but it's not a stereotype in the same way. Probably because Dogs Are Dumb — they may be angry, loud, domineering, and violent, but they're often portrayed as not having the awareness to be mean.

Or the canine equivalent of Cats Are Mean, if you will. I wonder if such a trope even exists around here.
No, I don't mean the Right-Hand Attack Dog or the Hell Hound, but rather a canine character who is portrayed as malicious, antagonistic, and an outright Jerkass. I searched, but to no avail.
Steele from Balto and Carface from All Dogs Go to Heaven come to mind as instant examples.
