This was an episode of an anthology series between 1977-1982. I believe it was in the USA.
This man was a writer and he stops off at a hotel for seclusion so he can write. He meets a few folks and at first is having a great time, parties and meets a nice girl. Yet in the evening he discovers something isn't right about the hotel. During the night the hotel catches on fire and as he is leaving he stops to help only to find a man with a hooked nose biting a woman or hurting her. He runs out the hotel is fully engulfed in flames. He goes to the cops or a sheriff to tell him of the events and they tell him the hotel burnt down many years before. The writer is so insistent that the police ride out to where the hotel was and it's just an empty field. As the walk along the lot, they suddenly find a woman dead with a terrifying look across her face.
I was young but this show scared me so bad I had nightmares for a week. Thanks for any help!
