I'd say that's a valid Tropes Are Flexible interpretation. Either "I'm more of a man than you (even though I'm a woman) because I've killed and you haven't", or a society that doesn't have share our gender biases says that "You become a real adult when you kill for the first time", would both fit the trope, I think.

Can this trope apply to female warriors? In the story, the female villain gloats to the male hero that he hasn't shed blood like hers, as it proves they are both warriors.
