Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
If it is indeed dialogue only, then that mention of Token Index in the description should be removed. All the other subtropes are also dialogue-based, but not that one.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I have an Is this an example? about one of its redirects, that hasn't been responded to yet.
And I'd agree. Dialogue only.

Also asked here, but no one answered. Really need mod clarification.
Edited by onyhow Give me cute or give me...something?I believe the trope's supposed to be dialogue-only and has had rampant trope decay/misuse since the last time the discussion happened.
Just look at the history of The Last Of These Is Not Like The Others. People have been trying to axe the number of non-dialogue-examples for ages.
Black Sheep Hit and Token Index were both added after that ~2017 point where a TRS thread was made and it was added to Square Peg Round Trope, so people simply hadn't rechecked the page since then, and they're two of the obvious outliers to being dialogue-only.
It's also a borderline Stock Phrase and it's part of why there's a No New Stock Phrases rule.
That being said, the original issue I was worried about was cleared up. The Azur Lane characters page resolved the examples to Uniformity Exception which unambiguously fits... and also overlaps a lot with the supposed definition of 'weird standout entries among the more general peers', so I don't think that's valid since it's redundant, except more vague.
Hoping for a mod response indeed, since again this would be a big change to the actual trope page if my interpretation's right.
Edited by DarkarosBump since it's been a few days.
Just want to be safe since I feel like there's too many examples to simply take it to Trope Talk forum but might still be unambiguous enough to not need another TRS. Open to more discussion on what to do.
Still none of my "Is This an Example" queries have been answered. Maybe toss one of yours in, and then see what the response is, then determine what to clean up, and how, based on that.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576The trope is on 2500 articles, and I skimmed through about 50 of them, almost all of which were non-dialogue examples. Removing non-dialogue examples is going to require a lot of work, which- on top of a 1/5th of the examples on the page being non-dialogue- makes me think there's enough cause to open a TRS thread about it.

Marking this as Video Game since it keeps popping up under a work I'm following (Azur Lane):
Since this is a dialogue-only trope (with its misuse mentioned in Square Peg Round Trope), it's okay to nuke like... a fifth of the actual The Last Of These Is Not Like The Others page right?
A troper is readding this trope under the justification that there's already examples interpreting the trope as a non-dialogue trope.
For example, under the Anime & Manga section, there's only one actual dialogue example (the very first one) and all the other ones seem like misuse.
The Real Life section also seems like half, or wholly, misuse, so I'd like an opinion on examples like the Hedgehog gene example and the one Advertising example at the top, where it's not explicitly dialogue, before I start deleting a bunch of examples.
