Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. The page looks fine to me, the main thing that needs work is your examples. They're all lacking in context. Basically, examples need to explain things in such a way that someone unfamiliar with both the work and the trope can understand exactly how the trope is used in the work.

^ Yep, the page has a lot of Zero-Context Examples.

Here are some ways the examples could be improved to make them explain how they qualify:

  • Badass Adorable: Flame, Lyly, and Skull, the baby ghost types.
What cute traits do they have, and what kind of badass things do they do?
  • Big Bad: Gengar. King Boo's more like the comic relief.
The Big Bad is the one who's behind most the main conflicts of the story. What are these conflicts, and how and why does Gengar cause them?
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Mario.
Who brainwashed Mario, why did they do it, and what does Mario do while brainwashed?
  • Shock and Awe: Luigi.
This example also has a quote explaining it, but quotes alone are not examples, and without the quote we're left with nothing but a name. You should describe Luigi's electricity powers yourself, and give some examples of how he uses them.
  • Training from Hell: Shizem the Chandelure and his Litwick students puts Mario through this.
What does the training consist of, and what is the goal of the training?

I wanted to PM you, but since it's being discussed here...

Example Indentation in Trope Lists:

If they always appear as trio, it's fine (needs context — what makes them cute & how they kick ass). If they are more like independent characters, it should go like this:

This is so much help! Thank you! I'm new to troping stuff, so thank you all for the tips! I'm also looking for more tropes to add, and better ways to explain everything...I'm also working on a transcript and novelization of the comic (I got permission from the creator), so that will probably help me better get a feel for how to explain it. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it greatly! I'm always open to new tips and critiques!
