It's an idiotic name for a trope. (But not the stupidest: that would be Yandere.) And in this case it's redundant with Shes Got Legs. And that's if you grant that it's tropeworthy at all, which I don't.
I for one would heartily support such a TRS thread, but you'll face the usual institutional resistance.

, where the discussion is currently leaning towards getting rid of the examples. That's a separate issue from the name but it would presumably make the name less of a problem anyway.
The main issue I have with the trope is that most people (myself included) write the examples down as just "Character X wears [color] knee/thigh-high socks", and that's about it. There's no context behind Zettai Ryouiki really, it's just a piece of fashion that is commonly worn in Japan and used in Japanese works. At least with Proper Tights with a Skirt and Modesty Shorts, there are some context to those two because they're used to preserve the dignity of female characters in different ways.
And yes, the romaji spelling of the trope can be confusing even to me. And I took basic Japanese studies.
Yeah, it's just a pretty poor trope in general...

I'll be bold and say it's not even a trope, it's a specific niche appearance fetish.
So perhaps it should be taken to TRS for being not tropeworthy rather than just for having a confusing name?
It shouldn't be taken to TRS, in my opinion, in light of the backlog there.
Regarding the ZCE issue, years ago there was a decision that the trope examples for this have to be identified with labels as the non-label example writeups tended to be squicky/creepy. Beyond that, yes, my impression has always been that it is a particular form of fanservice and a convention on its own, i.e a sexual trope. Fanservice and pandering to fetishes still count as tropes.

Moderators should take action and not wait for TRS.
Many of the backlogged TRS threads are either waiting for functional crowners, or have completed discussion and are just efforts to actually take the action decided. Could we close or move some of those threads to make room for new threads?
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.

Well, when / if the backlog clears up a bit, I think this is the first trope we should take to the workshop. It's just filled with problems and there's already consensus for fixing those problems, so all we need now is to actually send it to TRS, and I personally wouldn't mind having to wait a little bit just to know that this will eventually be fixed.
...If, of course, Septimus agrees this is TRS worthy.

Personally I don't think the case for TRS is very strong but that's an opinion not a mod order. As a moderator I think that some of the completed orange starred threads ought to be done before we open a new one.

Zettai Ryouiki is a commonly-misspelled Japanese term.note Clearly, English-speaking tropers are having trouble spelling the trope name, and it's incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't speak Japanese.
Should it be taken to TRS for these reasons?
